Woman Finds Mouse In Bag Of Healthy Living Chips: Photo

THERE’S a dead mouse in Poplar resident Becky Cook’s bag of Healthy Living Frozen Chips, the treat she bought in a branch of Co-op. Cheap protein is the food marvel of the post-war years, but the bag made no mention of chips with a meaty mouse.

Becky was disgusted. She wrote to the company’s head office. In due course she received an apology and £50 in vouchers. She can now spend the money in the shop that, apparently, sold her a dead mouse in a bag of chips.

Whole Rat Found In Tin Of Baked Beans

YOU can now get baked beans with added rat. Cheap protein is making us healthy.

The rat is thought to have climbed into a tin at the baked beans factory and been entombed.

Heinz says it wasn’t them. Premier Foods, owners of the Branston and HP brands, says: “We have no record of any such case or investigation.”

A health expert tells us:

“The rat had come to an untimely end, but was not possible to say if it had died before or after it got into the beans. But enzymatic tests established that it had been through the canning process. A post mortem examination showed that it hadn’t eaten recently – it had not enjoyed a last meal of baked beans.”

Would anyone enjoy them now?

Question: what makes the brown sauce brown?

Chinese Astronaut Eats Anti-Terror Dog

“Many of my friends are curious about what we eat [in space] and think that the astronauts must have some expensive delicacies, like shark’s fin or abalone. Actually we ate quite normal food, there is no need to keep it a secret.”

Sharks in Space sounds good but Abalone In Space is the kind of cinematic hit we’ve been waiting for. Anyhow, the normal food is dog meat, specifically Huajiang dog.

Evangelist Uses Pasta Bible To Grind Black People

THE Pasta Bible recommends that anyone looking to make tagliatelle [sic] with sardines and prosciutto the should use “salt and freshly ground black people”.

A spokesman for Penguin which publishes the book says:

We’re mortified that this has become an issue of any kind and why anyone would be offended, we don’t know.”

Because being offended it our human right. We prefer it that way. Offend us and you give our lives meaning the enliven an otherwise routine day.

“We’ve said to bookstores that if anyone is small-minded enough to complain about this … silly mistake, we will happily replace (the book) for them.”

And if anyone take the Pasta Bible literally, then they are either a pasta evangelist or the owner of one big pepper mill…

As the Telegraph says, Larrieux, a 22-year-old student from Portsmouth, eats only “meat, potatoes, cereals and an occasional apple but refuses even a single slice of carrot on her dinner plate”.

All this is positioned beneath the headline:

Curry Fights Dementia

edwina_currieTHE wonder of tabloid science tells us that eating a curry once or twice a week “could” help prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Or, er, could not.

Professor Murali Doraiswamy, of Duke University in North Carolina, said there was evidence that people who eat a curry meal two or three times a week have a lower risk of dementia.

Those that eat more than two or three curries a week lower the risk of constipation.

Professor Doraiswamy told the meeting:

“There is very solid evidence that curcumin binds to plaques, and basic research on animals engineered to produce human amyloid plaques has shown benefits.”

“You can modify a mouse so that at about 12 months its brain is riddled with plaques.

“If you feed this rat a curcumin-rich diet it dissolves these plaques. The same diet prevented younger mice from forming new plaques.

“The next step is to test curcumin on human amyloid plaque formation using newer brain scans and there are plans for that.”

Can’t surge with the science. He goes on:

“If you have a good diet and take plenty of exercise, eating curry regularly could help prevent dementia.”

So you need to jog to the curry house?

Professor Doraiswamy predicted it might be possible to develop a curry pill which had the same therapeutic effect.

Just add lager…
