The G20-riots bicycle guy

So who was the bloke with the bicycle at the G20-Riots?

Queer Anarchism has the low down:

60 year old historian Martin Buehler (who is a member of the press , I do not identify activists without consent) ‘photobombed’ a lot of media images of the G20 in Hamburg. In reality he is a long time observer documenting police brutality. In Hamburg he chose to cultivate the most non-activist ‘white bystander in a suit with a bike’. As police slow down or intermittent attacks and waited for the ‘bystander’ to get out of the way (is caught on the camera), activists had time to regroup or retreat.

G20 photobomb

You don’t need a protective cloak to doge the police and fight for justice. You just need to be ordinary middle-aged, white bloke with a push bike. The magic doesn’t end there. If you want to be truly invisible, you need to be old.

Tony Abbott Goes Shirt To Nipple With Topless Vladimir Putin

PA-9340425

TONY Abbott, Australia’s prime minister, and former Oxford University boxer, says he will “shirt-front” Vladimir Putin at the next G20 shindig in Australia.

The Times:

The term “shirt-front” is used to describe a front–on charge at an opponent in Australian Rules Football intended to knock the opponent to the ground. “I’m going to shirt-front Mr Putin,” Tony Abbott told reporters yesterday. He was describing his intention to press Mr Putin over the downing of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over the Ukraine in July by what is thought to have been a missile fired by Russian separatists.

“I am going to say to Mr Putin: Australians were murdered,” he said.

Ian Tomlinson Was Killed By A Rogue System: Harwood Is Just A Product

PC Simon Harwood, a member of the Metropolitan Police’s Territorial Support Group, used “excessive and unreasonable force” against Ian Tomlinson at the G20 protests in London, a jury has decided, write Richard North.

Image: Paul King (centre), the son of Ian Tomlinson, and his widow Julia (2nd right) speak to the press after the inquest into Mr Tomlinson’s death was delivered as an unlawful killing.

To reach an unlawful killing conclusion, says The Guardian, the jury were required to have been satisfied to a higher burden of proof than the other possible verdicts, which could have been reached “on the balance of probabilities”. They had to be convinced “beyond reasonable doubt“, the same threshold used in criminal trials.

G20 Officer Bubbles Josephs Sues YouTube For ‘Ridicule’: Toronto Cop Goes After The Internet ‘Anonymous’

CONSTABLE Adam Josephs, aka “Officer Bubbles”, was at the G20 protest in Toronto having bubbles blown in his direction by a Courtney Wikels. It was filmed. Josephs is now suing YouTube for exposing him to “ridicule“. (Video at end of article.)

Officer Josephs was wearing dark sunglasses as he told the young woman that if the bubbles touched him he would arrest her for… assault. Officer Josephs says  bubbles are a detergent and if they get in the eye they can hurt. So says Officer Josephs – the cop in the, er, dark glasses.

The woman is soon arrested. And the tin lid is placed on this box of delights as we see that Officer Joseph is wearing shorts. We’d like to say that Officer Josephs is not in the least bit flatulent but should one parp of methane from his posterior touch our eyes, mouth or skin we reserve the right to have him arrested for assault.

In Pictures: The Memorial And Death Of Ian Tomlinson

ONE year ago Ian Tomlinson died. He was 47. He died on a London Street. He was pushed to the ground by a policeman – a British policeman at the G20 protest. Ian Tomlinson had his hands in his pockets when he was pushed. He had his back to the police. He was hit with a police baton on his way home from work. Today Ian Tomlinson’s widow Julia Tomlinson placed flowers at a memorial in London. Politicians, campaigners, lawyers and academics have signed a letter to the Director of Public Prosecutions which criticises the “intolerable” delays surrounding the investigation into the death at the G20 protests of Ian Tomlinson. One year on and nothing. Nothing. It looks like the police look after their own. It looks like the police aren’t all that keen on justice. Ask yourselves this: had someone struck a policeman from behind with a metal rod – and had that policeman died a short while later – what would have happend to the perpetrator?

Images 7 onwards for the assault.

Delroy Smellie Not Made To Pay For The Death Of Ian Tomlinson

SGT. DELROY Smellie is cleared of striking Nicola Fisher with baton. Mrs Fisher did not turn up at court. “I stand by what I said,” says she. But not in court.

When we bash one policeman we are bashing the Force. When we take on one copper we are taking them all one. But what if the one you are gunning for is innocent? Are we going for Smellie or are we after justice for the murder of Ian Tomlinson?

Make one of them pay – it matters not which one. They all look the same, don’t they. And, indeed, they all look the same by choice. And Delroy Smellie chose to smack Nicola Fisher about the legs with a metal rod.

G20 In Pictures – The Death Of Ian Tomlinson

District Judge Daphne Wickham says Smellie had 7 seconds to react when ran in front of him “hurling abuse at a vigil held on 2 April to mark the death of newspaper seller Ian Tomlinson at a previous demonstration“.

Would she hurl abuse at a copper were he walking in the street? Would she dare?

G20 In Pictures: Sergeant Delroy Smellie Versus Nicola Fisher, Not Ian Tomlinson

POLICE SERGEANT Delroy Smellie arrived at City of Westminster Magistrates Court, London, charged with assaulting one Nicola Fisher during the G20 protests of April 2, 2009. Smellie – the more you say the better and better it sounds – has pleaded not guilty to a charge of common assault. Climate protester Nicola Fisher has already given evidence to the Home Affairs Committee in London. Sergeant Delroy Smellie has not.

Is that fair?

But wait: At City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court, the alleged victim, protester Nicola Fisher, is reportedly, “unwilling” to attend court. Why?

In pictures: G20 – The Death Of Ian Tomlinson

Thought: A cop by the name of PC Ward is allegedly telling pals on his Facebook page he “couldn’t wait to bash some long-haired hippies” at the G20 protests.

Sergeant Delroy Smellie Charged With G20 Assault

7864484SERGEANT Delroy Smellie is to be charged with assaulting Nicola Fisher at the G20 demonstration in London.

Yeah, Smellie. Oh, nominative determinism.

The G20 summit has long stopped being about politics, and now exists only for the media as a chance for the uniformed police and banner waving poverty fans – hoods up, kids – to go for it in scenes missing from our TV screens since all-seater stadia erupted all over football.

G20 Sneeze Fetishist Arrested For Attacking Woman With Pepper Spray

pepper-pervertsTO Commerce, Texas, where a local man is accused of blowing a white powdery substance in the face of a female shop assistant at Commerce Hardware and Feed.

Says Commerce Police Chief Kerry Crews.

In my entire career I’ve never heard of anything like this. I’ve checked with my detectives and they haven’t heard of anything like it either.”

“We found out he’s got a problem. He becomes aroused by females sneezing.”

The powder turned out to be white pepper.

The shop worker is duly rushed to hospital suffering from an irritated throat and arm, leading to the sneeze fetishist being charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Leading to a snort of derision all round.

Meanwhile, weird men who like to dress up in paramilitaty garb and do battle with weird men who like to sniff scarves are inhaling pepper spray on the streets.

Had only our pervert man gone to the G20 summit as a copper, he’d have remained free and aroused…

Trad Jazz Killed The G20

marchbandANORAK flashes back to trad jazz:

LEAFLETS? Check. Placard? Check. Amonia? Check. Euphonium? Check.
Cometh the hour, cometh the trad jazz band. This is the iron law of public campaigning. No sooner is a committee formed, than the jazzers turn up like the bent coin in Humphrey Lyttelton’s Bad Penny Blues. Look, there they are – behind the man on stilts.

It is egotism, not idealism, that drives them, which is why they will happily offer their services to anything from a church fête to a sex offenders’ convention.

Ian Tomlinson Is Related To Jade Goody

IAN Tomlinson is now the subject of heated debate. He did not die in vain – his death is, very possibly, earning jobbing hacks more money than he earned in a lifetime as they fill space with opinions on how an innocent man was beaten up byu the polcie and then dropped dead not long after.

A smiling Amanda Platell sees it her job to tell Mail readers:

There is no way that I can defend the masked police officer caught on video striking a man on the back of his legs with a steel baton and then shoving him so hard that he fell to the ground. The man subsequently died of a heart attack.

The BNP Punishes The Banking Pigs

RICHARD North looks at how the BNP is trying to capitalise on the banking crisis:

You could pick any number of issues. Take, for instance, the latest terrorist threat, the effects of unrestrained immigration from the EU, or perhaps the insanity of votes for prisoners, driven by the European court of human rights.

New Video Of G20 Ian Tomlinson Being Beaten By Police

IAN Tomlinson died at the G20 protest. Pictures and video here. He had heart attack. Before it, he was hit with force on the legs and pushed hard enough to make him fall.

Here’s the second video. The police involved have yet to be identified. With all those CCTV cameras in London, why has that proved so difficult?

Not enough cameras. More cameras. Cameras on copper’s hats.

And get some Id cards and give everyone a number. What’s the copper’s number? If only someone had put thought of putting numbers on their shoulders and hats.

Still, they all the look the same. So long as the police get one of them yellow jacketed sods, who cares.

Right, Sambo?

Update:

A total of four MPS officers, inclusive of this officer, have now come forward with potentially relevant information in relation to the investigation into the death of Mr Ian Tomlinson on 1/4/09.

The Media Gave Jade Goody Cancer

JADE Goody remains dead – so say the headlines. And Max Clifford begins to make sense of who Jade was:

“I have dealt with people from the Beatles to Muhammad Ali, but I have never known such intensity from the media as this.”

Had only The Beatles called Max then John Lennon could have scored the Harpic contract and been the face of Walrus Conservation. Ali, well, is he still champion of the world?
