Gabby Giffords steps down one year after Jared Loughner shot her (video)
GABRIELLE Giffords, the Arizona US Congresswoman shot in the head by Jared Lee Loughner in Tuscon, is to step down from her elected post.
She barely survived the shooting.
Gabby Giffords made the announcement in a YouTube video posted yesterday afternoon. Says Giffords:
“I don’t remember much from that horrible day, but I will never forget the trust you placed in me to be your voice. I will return, and we will work together for Arizona and this great country.”

The Collected Idiocy Of Jared Loughner: Grammar Nazi
AS the media and vested interest groups battle to explain that Sarah Palin / God / a drawing/a map / marijuana/ liberal ideals / Hitler/ a grudge/ Barack Obama / Chicago and gun law made Jared Loughner murder six people and wound 14 more (including Jewish, female Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords), we take a look at the killer.
Loughner told the world on a video:
“No! I won’t pay debt with a currency that’s not backed by gold and silver.”
As Tim Worstall says:
For of course, even if you are a gold/silver nut, in fact, especially if you’re a gold/silver nut, you’re absolutely delighted to be paying what you owe to others with these funny little pieces of paper: while hopefully managing to ensure that what others owe to you is paid in gold/silver backed currency.
In 2007, Loughner asked Giffords:
“What is government if words have no meaning?”
He asks in a video:
“If the property owners and government officials are no longer in ownership of their land and laws from a revolution then the revolutionary’s from the revolution are in control of the land and laws.”

Gabrielle Giffords: Keith Olbermann Forgets To Blame The Democrats And Jared Lee Loughner
GABRIELLE Giffords: Sarah Palin is still being singled out for her apparent part in the death of six people and the shooting of 14 more, among them Gabrielle Giffords. Jared Lee Loughner is barely getting a look in.
TV shock jock Keith Olberman is gung-ho for Palin and her crosshairs. But he forgets to note Obama’s Chicago-style politics and this page of the Democratic Leadership Committee website (dated 2004 during the Bush years), for using bullseye targets on Republican seats. (Via.)

Gabrielle Giffords Won’t Die From Irony
GABRIELLE Giffords: Get a load of this senator taking a brave stannce:
A senior Republican senator, speaking anonymously in order to freely discuss the tragedy, told POLITICO that the Giffords shooting should be taken as a “cautionary tale” by Republicans.
