George Bush’s Legacy Marked In George Clooney Film And Wind Power

BARBRA Streisand says George Bush, whom she had just been kissed by, will be remembered for “the ruination of our country”. And – irony of ironies – “But, he was very disarming…”

Indeed, he was disarming in Iraq and Afghanistan. So Bush is war. Or will Bush be remembered for his environmentalism:

The United States overtook Germany as the biggest producer of wind power last year, new figures showed, and will likely take the lead in solar power this year…

Obama Adapted Bush’s Inauguration Speech

DID you see and hear and expience Obama’s inaugural address? He will harness the sun.

We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.

Here‘s Bush in his address of 2005:

Obama Gets The Keys To The Debt Vehicle

HUGH Hewitt look at Bush, looks at Obama and attempts the impossible:

[T]he massive spending splurge unveiled by House Democrats is just a joke, an expression of eight years of pent-up liberal frustrations at fiscal discipline –the teenagers given a fifth and the car keys, out on a destructive joyride.

This would be daddy Bush who has doubled the national debt?

Axis Of Heel-vil: Iranians Hold Shoe Toss Contest, Ahmadinejad Struggles

TO Iran, where the Mohammad Rassoolollah Brigade is holding a shoe tossing contest.

They came from yards around to nick shoes from outside a mosque and throw them in support of shoe inustry campaigner Muntader al-Zaidi, who threw his shoes at President Bush during his trip to Baghdad two weeks ago.

The target was a George Bush poster. And some shoes proved a hit.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is thought to be supportive of the big toss but is truggling to free his veritable food from the Dolcis size 4 strappy heels worn for his portrayal of the Queen earlier in the week.

Pop Star Admits To Liking ‘Attractive’ George Bush, Police Alerted

NEWS in the Express that Pete Townsend, formerly of The Who, has met with the outgoing president George Bush and his fragrant (eau de Lucky Strikes) wife Laura.

Says Townsend:

They are a “very attractive couple” and “made us feel properly welcome. I really like him.”

A rock star who likes Bush? What madness is this?

The only thing left for Mr Townsend is to say how he was only pretending to like Bush for research purposes before he hauled off to the cells…

The Thick-Soled Model 271 Is The Bush Shoe

WHEN Muntader al-Zaidi tossed his shoes, he did not throw just any shoes. As Bloomberg reports:

Dec. 19 (Bloomberg) — The shoe hurled at President George W. Bush has sent sales soaring at the Turkish maker as orders pour in from Iraq, the U.S. and Iran.

The brown, thick-soled “Model 271” may soon be renamed “The Bush Shoe” or “Bye-Bye Bush,” Ramazan Baydan, who owns the Istanbul-based producer Baydan Ayakkabicilik San. & Tic., said in a telephone interview today.

Anorak recommends the curly toed Ottoman slipper, it being the only shoe that comes back to the shoe tosser.

Iraqis Shower Bush With Free Shoes

GEORGE Bush is offered a free pair of shoes and the Washington Post reports today:

Iraqis demonstrated in the streets Monday demanding the release of the journalist who hurled two shoes at President Bush during a press conference on Sunday, as Arabs across the Middle East hailed Bush’s assailant as a hero who reflected their anger at American policies.

Says he:

It is not until the 9th paragraph that the Washington Post reports that the only ones protesting in support of al-Zaidi are the followers of anti-American Iranian-backed extremist Muqtada Al-Sadr who holds a minority of influence in the Iraqi Congress.

The Sadrist block holds only 30 seats in the 275 member Parliament.

Still – an attack where no-one got hurt seems like good news…

George Bush Hurls

GEORGE Bush salutes the shoe tosser of old Baghdad:

Martha Raddatz: Let’s start with what just happened. And that is someone threw a shoe at you, whether it’s an Iraqi reporter?

President Bush: Yeah, I think it’s a reporter. At least that’s what they told me on the way out, that it’s a person who works in the Iraqi press, stands up and throws his shoe. And it was amusing. I mean, I’ve seen a lot of weird things during my presidency and this may rank up there as one of the weirdest.

On the other hand, I do remember when the president of China came to the South Lawn, and a member of the press corps started yelling. I think it was Falun Gong slogans at the Chinese president. So this happens and it’s a sign of a free society.

In a free society you throw shoes. In America you hurl insults in a foreign language so that the goons don’t know you’re saying.

Anorak can only marvel at how free Nazi Germany was as its peoples went one better then shoes and insults and lobbed bombs and tanks at everybody…

Pardon: Rod Blagojevich Offers Senate Seat To George Bush

A MAN throws his shoe at George Bush in Iraq.

He misses. George Bush smiles. Says George Bush:

I’m OK. It doesn’t bother me. So what if he threw a shoe at me. All I can report is it is a size 10.

You’ll miss him when he’s gone…

As one pundit puts it:

“The single best thing about the election of Obama,” he says, “may be that we now have a chance to view the terror threat without the distorting lens of Bush hatred.”

That’s Obama, whose name is being muddied by association with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, you know the guy who offered the U.S. Senate seat to the cop who arrested him.

The American electorate is waiting for that other shoe to drop…

How Guantanamo Bay Prevents More Mumbai Massacres

Bush Wacking: Andrew Sullivan Forgets The Democrats As He Bashes The Bush

HOW many of all the bad things can be blamed on George Bush? Andrew Sullivan talks about the money but forgets the Democrats:

“The debt was so reckless and so immense that it now threatens to destroy the entire financial system. That’s what electing George W Bush twice has done for us. But then we are told that this threat requires us to do even more of the borrowing and spending before we can begin to get ourselves back in balance again. The unchallenged doctrine of the day is that: doing nothing would provoke a worse collapse than necessary and so we have to make our fiscal situation much worse now in order to make it much better later. Why am I not convinced?”

As Johnathan Pearce says:
