G20 Leaders Get Loaded For Poverty

HATS off to Gordon Brown who is half way to fulfilling his pledge to end boom and bust.

Boom is well and truly over. And once we are all poor, bust will only be a historical relative, an arcane term of yesteryear.

So to the White House, where Gordon is at table to discuss matters of great import: when George Bush goes, will he be the most unpopular leader in the world?

The talk turns to the economic crisis,. With dinner keeping their tongue sharp and loose with beverages that cost almost $500 a bottle.

The G-20 summit kicks off with “Fruitwood-smoked Quail,” “Thyme-roasted Rack of Lamb,” and “Tomato, Fennel and Eggplant Fondue Chanterelle Jus.”

All washed down the gizzard with doses of Shafer Cabernet “Hillside Select” 2003, a wine that sells at $499 on Wine.com.

Sarah Palin’s Big Book Of Spells

GEORGE Bush is nearly out. You’ll miss him when’s he’s gone. And there’s a book coming:

Bush memoirs? Publishers are underwhelmed

“If I were advising President Bush, given how the public feels about him right now, I think patience would probably be something that I would encourage,” says Paul Bogaards, executive director of publicity for Alfred A. Knopf.

Yeah, losers don’t sell books:

Sarah Palin’s failure set to reap her $7m book deal

Literary agents are queueing up to sign her to a book deal that could earn her up to $7m… “Every publisher and a lot of literary agents have been going after her,” added Jeff Klein of Folio Literary management.

Unless…

BARACK Obama Watch: Wenger’s Wonder, Michelle’s Liz Hurley And John Major…

ARSENE WENGER, manger of Arsenal football club on why he is sticking with his policy of picking youth over experience:

Barack Obama Watch: Media Pride In Not Noticing Obama’s Non-Whiteness

NOW we are moved on from racial politics, each of us – Muslim fundamentalist, white supremacist, Black Shiite, Panther, Tutsi, Boar and so on – living in a post-racial society, the media can say whatever it likes about Barack Obama and we will know the reporters and nodding heads are not exploiting his blackness, nor his non-blackness but just sticking to the essence of the man, whatever that may be.

The Sun brings news of “Black Dr Who”, and we know that it is not referring to Colin Salmon’s skin tones but his mood, which is dark and foreboding, like Othello and his talking metal dog made accessible for a teenaged audience.

Hitler Comes Out In Support Of McCain, Obama Supporters React With Marker Pens

DON’T bet against John McCain winning, not if Adolf Hitler’s got anything to do with it.

A US President needs two things: a death cult and a fan to mock him up as Adolf Hitler

McCain has a death cult. Sarah Palin has a death cult. Even her children have a death cult. And Obama, well, he has not so much death cult as a base. Joe Biden has no death cult, and given his absence from the debate, he shows few signs of life let alone death.

So the McCain-Palin ticket is ahead. And now we learn that McCain is Hitler.

When Leaving The White House Wash Hands

ANORAK has been browsing the White House: “Fact Sheet: Ensuring a Smooth and Effective Presidential Transition.”

While Barack Obama uses his 30-minute long infomercial to advertise himself and the O-thimaster from Obama Solutions Inc. and new device for fat-free cooking, his staffers plan for the big move.

The directive goes…

Today, the Transition Coordinating Council (TCC) will meet for the second time, continuing the Administration’s comprehensive transition efforts. The peaceful transfer of power from one Presidential Administration to the next is a hallmark of American democracy.

And on…

Barack Obama Will Be Shot Like A White Man

DID you know that Barack Obama has been the target of more than 500 death threats since launching his bid for the White House?

Fact: No black US president has been assassinated.

The Sun says at least 12 were serious. You can read about them in the Barack Obama Death Cult.

But is 500 a lot? “Can the ‘black Jesus’ escape an assassin’s bullet?” asks David Jones in the Express. Is that a threat?

While Obama has been allegedly threatened by Fred Astaire Nazis, Anorak recalls how Gordon Brown was caught in Channel 4’s crosshairs.

Why You’ll Love George Bush When He’s Gone

WHEN George Bush goes, you’ll love him. Stanley Fish agrees:

Now I would like to enter these treacherous waters again and venture another prediction: within a year of the day he leaves office, and no matter who succeeds him, George W. Bush will be a popular public figure, regarded with affection and a little nostalgia even by those who voted against him and thought he was the worst president in our history.

Does anyone really dislike George Bush the person, or just disagree with what he represents? He’s hard not to like…

Meanwhile, does anyone like Tony Blair, the worthy, humble, vain, greedy religion-on-his sleeve, pleasing, warmongering, creepy, grinning hero of the once bereft Left? Maybe when he goes, we will.
