Global Warming Recyling Bin: Osama bin Laden Blows up Planes To Fight Climate Change

GLOBAL WARMING: Osama bin Laden is all for the Stone Age. Let’s bomb lights! Let’s bomb planes! Can you get solar powered bombs? News from the reclycling bin:

Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming, according to a new audiotape released Friday.

In the tape, broadcast in part on Al-Jazeera television, bin Laden warned of the dangers of climate change and says that the way to stop it is to bring “the wheels of the American economy” to a halt.

He blamed Western industrialized nations for hunger, desertification and floods across the globe, and called for “drastic solutions” to global warming, and “not solutions that partially reduce the effect of climate change.”

Which is why he blows up planes…

Global Warming: Prince Charles And David Cameron Are Featherweights Blowing With The Wind

GLOBAL Warming: Prince Charles has been to the CRU at East Anglia University. The truth is that Charles may be the most qualified expert there. James Delingpole expels heat as Charles says:

“Well done all of you. Many, many congratulations on your work. I wish you great success in the future. Don’t get downhearted by these little blips here and there!”

Those little blips are not encouraging the great unwashed to see globalw arming as all that big a deal:

Global Warming: ‘The Fantasy Shadow Game Of Carbon Control’

carbon-dioxide-pollution-and-global-warmingCLIMATE Change needs more… honesty. Richard North reports:

More honesty needed on climate change, says John Beddington, the UK Government’s chief scientific adviser – as reported by The Times. You want honest? Here’s honesty, in the comments section of Watts up with that:

I write this from the middle of the eastern China coastal Plain where particulate air pollution is out of control, water pollution is out of control, solid waste management is out of control, industrial conversion of Ag land is out of control, all of which is reduced to side show by fixation on the trivial warming effects of a trace gas.

The legitimate causes of pollution control and conservation have been hijacked by a scientific freak show, demanding that the entire world fiddle while substantial portions of the planet burn. Those forces (political and industrial) that have no interest in addressing reality will happily spar forever in the fantasy shadow game of carbon control.

That is the truth – the climate change industry is causing terrible damage by diverting attention from real pollution, the effects of which are blighting millions of lives. The only honest thing is to abandon the obsession with “carbon” and get down to tackling real pollution. All the rest is talk. – RN

And do we need more hot air?

GlacierGate: The BBC Ignores Conflict Of Interest And Dr Pachauri’s A Dead Man Walking

pachauri-adoptGLACIERGATE – the Himalayan glaciers are not melting al that fast. The science prestnted as fact is bollocks. Richard North keeps looking and spots a biased BBC:

HOW typical it is for the BBC to enter the Glaciergate fray, giving a subtly distorted and one-sided account of events, without mentioning the “conflict of interest” issues that have been highlighted by this blog and subsequently by a number of MSM outlets.

As I have observed before, censorship and distortion is manifest most strongly in what organs like the BBC don’t say, as much as what they do.

Thus, all we get from the Beeb is a travesty of the “state of the art” in their supposed summary, where they state: “Some commentators maintain that these developments, taken together with the contents of e-mails stolen last year from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit, it undermines (sic) the credibility of climate science.”

Glaciergate: The Resignation Of Rajendra Pachauri BBC Bias

GLACIERGATE, the latest climate change story the BBC isn’t talking about (see how the CRU story was sat on), is pretty bad news for Rajendra Pachauri, frequent flying chairman of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Richard North brings us the latest:

“You can’t say it’s careless science … it’s one mistake,” says Pachauri, referring to the use of the WWF “grey” reference (i.e., not peer-reviewed) to support the contention that Himalayan glaciers would melt away by 2035.

Glacier Gate: Richard North Sees Rajendra Pachauri’s Mob Contradict Themselves

RAJENDRA Pachauri and the IPCC are in the mire. Those melting Himalayan glaciers will not go away – literatlly. Richard North takes a look:

“RAJENDRA Pachauri … is, at best, one more blunder away from having to resign its (the IPCC’s) chairmanship.” That comes from the man we like to describe as the doyen of the warmists, Geoffrey Lean, writing in The Daily Telegraph.

Now doubt, we can help Dr R K on his way to a peaceful retirement as, with reckless abandon, he told The Hindu yesterday that the chances of the IPCC having made more errors in its benchmark 2007 report were “minimal if not non-existent“, even while admitting the “regrettable error” on the melting glaciers that has raised questions about its credibility.

Glaciergate Exposed: The Western Plot To Melt The Himalayas And Keep India Down

THE Indian glaciers are melting…not! Richard Bolt looks at the bad science and the scaremongering media with a agenda to protect. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said in 2007:

Glaciers in the Himalaya are receding faster than in any other part of the world and, if the present rate continues, the likelihood of them disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very high if the Earth keeps warming at the current rate.

The Indian Government issued a report saying the above was nonsense. The IPCC poo-pooed that:

Rajendra Pachauri, the IPCC’s chairman, has hit back, denouncing the Indian government report as “voodoo science” lacking peer review.

Oh, really?

In the past few days the scientists behind the warning have admitted that it was based on a news story in the New Scientist, a popular science journal, published eight years before the IPCC’s 2007 report.

It has also emerged that the New Scientist report was itself based on a short telephone interview with Syed Hasnain, a little-known Indian scientist then based at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. Hasnain has since admitted that the claim was “speculation” and was not supported by any formal research.

Richard takes up thre story:

ALTHOUGH it has been a minor entertainment to bloggers and handled very low-key in the British and US media, “glaciergate” – as I suppose we must call it – has gone down a storm in India. The piece I did yesterday was the lead slot on the main English news channel in India. It is considered that important.

The reason, when you think about it, is not hard to fathom. While polar bears might be the global warming icon in the West, the “poster child” for Asian, and especially Indian, warmists has been the Himalayan glaciers.

And that is hardly unsurprising. Anything up to two (or is it three) billion people rely directly or indirectly on glacier-fed rivers in the region. And, as one wag said, if the Indian rivers dry up, there will be nowhere for them to put their pollution.

However, there is a broader political agenda here – or at least perceived as such – identified by this piece in The Times of India, which argues: “West uses ‘glacier theory’ to flog India on climate change”.

The BBC Gets Children To Support Heated Debate On Man-Made Global Warming

BBC World Class and the British Council produced the climate change interactive project, which has a clickable map so that you can see what weather youngsters are experiencing in their area.

You may enjoy the missive from Saudi Arabia (“It’s hot”) and news from Bournemouth that – get his – mad-made global warming has created “drab” summers. Because before global wamring became the thing to talk about Bournemouth was balmy…

Here are some of the choicest cuts on the matter of man-made climate change:

* We believe that we’re affected by climate change because it seems like winter starts earlier. Harsh weather conditions cause health problems. We can help by recycling, reducing pollution and gas emissions.
Sleepy Hollow High School, New York State, USA

* I strongly believe that I am affected by climate change. I live on an island in the Caribbean which would be submerged by rising sea levels caused by climate change.

Global Warming Kills Ski Chalet Market

GET a load of all that snow. But the Observer’s Graham Norwood senses disaster, telling his readers that no snow is bad for business:

Ski property faces meltdown as global warming chills the market

You want the facts?

There are no authoritative figures on the international ownership of ski homes but between 2004 and 2007, around 70% of all flats and chalets sold in one large resort in the French Alps were bought by Britons, and dozens of British estate agents market ski properties in Europe and North America. Now they – and the developers behind the resorts – are trying to avoid this lucrative market being consigned to history.

Global Warmists’ Damage Limitation: With The Met Office’s John Hammond

cold2GLOBAL warming is making it less snowy. It’s the climate not the weather. Richard North looks at the latest attempts to tell us that the settled science is right and you, freezing cold readers, are wrong:

JOINING the David Viner school of climate prediction, we now have John Hammond from the Met Office confidently telling us that, severe winter freezes, “like the one gripping parts of Europe over the last few weeks“, will become increasingly rare.

This is, of course, because of our old friend “climate change”, the news brought to us by Reuters, which seems have resisted the temptation to put its report in the entertainment section.

Hammond represents the latest attempt of the warmists at damage limitation – evident in the change of tone since the freezing weather hit us. Gone is the daily diet of catastrophic predictions, to be replaced by diverse offerings on the “weather is not climate” theme, combined with increasingly frantic reiterations that “climate change” is continuing.

Thus do we get the man telling us that the winter so far has been one of the coldest for nearly 30 years in Britain – something that even the Met Office has not been able to hide (but no mention that but it has been just as cold throughout most of the northern hemisphere).

Cold News: Cooling Cycle Is Not Deadly Weather, It’s Killer Climate

coldIT’S Cold. And cold is front-page news:

As Cold As South Pole”Mail

It’s even colder than in your freezer” – Mirror

Deep-Freeze BRITAIN” – Telegraph

ICE LAND” – Indepdendent

So cold is it that people are dying from the freeze. Richard North looks at the news coverage:

THE death toll from Britain’s biggest freeze for decades reached 22 today, reports The Times – and this is before we see what is slated to be the coldest night so far.

That, however, only takes into account the immediate, observable deaths associated with accidents and other incidents. But, as the BBC admits, cold is a silent killer.

In Pictures: Shocking Airport XRays (NSFW)

This winter, instead of the traditional story about a little orphaned ice bear cub or cute little elephant baby, the world was fed a different kind of story. For variation’s sake, the cute animal tales are sometimes replaced by some horror story. Just before last Christmas, a carefully scripted charade was enacted by the combined security services of the US and one of its European client states.

A Christmas charade? Four words: Con-spi-ra-cy…

There is no need to retell the details of the Detroit incident starring the “crotch bomber,” or “underpants bomber,” as the poor Nigerian patsy is usually referred to. Anyone with a minimum of intelligence should have immediately seen the story for what it is: a scam.

Mayhem World Over As Cold Weather Hits Global Warming Hard

8173129SO cold is it that the papers and news media all lead with the weather. Sky News screms (and this is “breaking news”): “Snow, Ice And Sleet Causes Travel Mayhem.” The Daily Star‘s front page  says it’s “-18”. The Mail‘s says “-12”. And Richard North looks at the world view, as told by the serious newspapers:

LET The Times do the talking for once. “Arctic freeze and snow wreak havoc across the planet,” it reports.

“Arctic air and record snow falls gripped the northern hemisphere yesterday, inflicting hardship and havoc from China, across Russia to Western Europe and over the US plains,” it tells us.

“There were few precedents for the global sweep of extreme cold and ice that killed dozens in India, paralysed life in Beijing and threatened the Florida orange crop. Chicagoans sheltered from a potentially killer freeze, Paris endured sunny Siberian cold, Italy dug itself out of snowdrifts and Poland counted at least 13 deaths in record low temperatures of about minus 25C (-13F).”

Climate Change and Greener Power Policy Means Millions Freeze

fire1DOES global warming – or at least the Government’s half-cocked approach to greener energies – contribute to fuel poverty? Is global warming making you cold? Richard North  reads the Inepdent’s headline – “Poll reveals more than 7m households are in fuel poverty” – and takes a look behind it.

CHARACTERISTIC of the many subjects reported by the media these days is the fundamental dishonesty with which they are treated. To add to the EU, climate change and sundry other issues, we can now also add “fuel poverty”.

Global Warming Creates Giant Turkeys: George Monbiot Rejoice

turkey1PANIC merchant George Monbiot has news that any change in “global temperature reduces the range of places that can sustain human life.” Before we get to the good news, Monbiot has more facts:

During the last ice age, humans were confined to low latitudes. The difference in the average global temperature between now and then was 4 degrees. Global warming will have the opposite effect, driving people into higher latitudes, principally as water supplies diminish. Food production at high latitudes must rise as quickly as it falls elsewhere, but this is unlikely to happen.

Is it?

Tasmanian butchers say they are facing the nightmare of irate customers and financial losses thanks to over-sized turkeys. The state’s turkey supplier Nichols says its Christmas birds are up to 2kg heavier than expected this year thanks mostly to a cooler growing season.

Home cooks who ordered a 3kg turkey for Christmas Day are likely to find themselves battling to get a bird that will fit in the oven.

Panic over…
