Vote Gordon Brown To Cure Cancer

IN his now weekly address to Sun readers, Gordon Brown pulls on his briefs and “said yesterday that he and Barack Obama shared a dream of tackling the world’s woes — and vowed to do so together.”

Brown is the new black, say his supporters.

The Prime Minister declared they would form a bond so strong that Britain’s special relationship with the US would become unbreakable.

So tight will this bond become that should, say, the US economy tumble, then we too will tumble.
Should the US go to war, we too will go to war.

ROGUE Trader II promises to be the summer’s big British blockbuster. In Rogue Trader, Nick Leeson managed to bring down merchant bank Barings Bank and find fame.

Gordon Brown watched and made notes and can be seen, as Lesson says, “throwing someone else’s money at the problem rather than facing up to his original mistakes”. Gordon’s well-thumbed copy of Leeson’s Fiscal Guide is always to hand.

Others looked on with envy. Could they do a Leeson and be just as famous? The Leeson franchise was born:

Gordon Brown’s Department of Debt Dialectic and Other Jobbies

GORDON BROWN says “the world must work harder to avoid a two-year recession.”

History teaches us that two years is not enough. We must strive for three, four and the dream of decade-long recession.

Says the Sun:

“He also unveiled plans for100,000 jobs and ruled out an election this year.”

So Gordon will wait until the recession is in full swing to call an election, or not.

Meanwhile, he will create a 100,000 more jobbies in debt consolidation and the repossession sector, all managed by the Department of Debt Dialectic, itself an employer of some 24,000 citizens. Or as Fraser Nelson, says “up to” 100,000 jobs, which includes the figure “zero jobs”.

GORDON BROWN’S boast when he admitted to saving the world, overshadowed his other phrase:

“Not A Single Depositer In Britain Lost Any Money”

Listen:

Yeah – no-one. Whaddaguy! And he’s right because Brown is a politico and every word he utters is couched in a degree of truth:

“No depositor actually lost money in Britain.”

He’s right. Although as for the rest of the world…

Banana Monarchy: Britain Is Bigger Credit Risk Than McDonald’s

ONCE great, Great Britain as now revealed to be a bigger credit default risk than McDonald’s.

Ronald or Gordon? Scotland awaits the answer…

Which one’s in the clown boots?

Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) — Investing in U.K. government debt is almost
twice as risky as buying bonds sold by McDonald’s Corp., based on prices
in the credit-default swap market.

The CHART OF THE DAY compares the cost of protecting against a decline in the creditworthiness of the two borrowers. U.K. protection became more expensive on Sept. 29, when the pound suffered
its biggest one-day loss against the dollar in 16 years after the government took control of Bradford & Bingley Plc, Britain’s biggest lender to landlords.

Britain risks being viewed pejoratively as a banana republic “apart from the technical disqualification that we have a monarch and so cannot be a Republic, and it’s too cold to grow bananas anyway,” says Sean Corrigan, who helps oversee about $8.5 billion as chief investment strategist at Diapason Commodities Management SA in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Yes, we have no bananas, we have no bananas today…

Nationwide Terror Probe Nets Hundreds Of PM Irritants

COUNTER-TERRORISM POLICE today rounded up hundreds of Britons suspected of membership in organizations described as “irritating” to Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The exact number was not released, but police officials said that many more are expected, “depending on the Prime Minister’s mood this morning.”

“Our sole purpose is to keep citizens safe from the threat of international terrorism,” said Thomas Ayckroyd, a spokesman for the Home Office. “While these detainees may all be British citizens, they were clearly engaged in treasonous acts designed to destabilize Her Majesty’s government by embarrassing, irritating, or otherwise inconveniencing the Prime Minister.”
