Adele wins six at The Grammys – photos

THE BAFTAS and Grammys were on the same night. Anorak was double-booked, so we did as most of you did and watched the showbiz AGMS at home on the telly. The Baftas are over here. The Grammys are here. It was good night for Adele, who got to hide the frame that offends bitchy fashionistas behind six metal gramophone records. The 23-year-old from Tottenham belted out Rolling in the Deep, the family car trip sound of 2011 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

Said Adele:

“Thank you so much. This is ridiculous. I want to say thank you to every radio programmer and broadcaster that has been playing Rolling in the Deep … because I know it’s not really a pop record.”

Isn’t it?

In photos – Clive Davis Pre-GRAMMY Gala: Diana Ross’s hair sees off Kardashian breasts

WHITNEY Houston is dead. And the Clive Davis Pre-GRAMMY Gala goes on. This is the Pre-GRAMMY Gala & Salute to Industry Icons with Clive Davis honouring Richard Branson. It’s about the music. But it’s really about the hair. No, not the breasts – hard lucks to Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian who showed more front than Bridlington. It’s the hair that rocks pop.

Branson has hair like a Barbie doll. Slash, the Guns & Roses guitarist, has luxurious curly hair that is always seen beneath a top hat. Does the hair go to the top of the trademark lid, or is it attacked to the hair’s brim? The biggest hair belonged to Diana Ross. Her hair is so big it has it own postcode. It’s massive. It’s hair to share. When Ross dies, her hair will keep growing, possibly in a museum or under Slash’s hat..

Michael Jackson To Host Grammy Awards In 3D

7492938MICHAEL Jackson is earning more money in death than you ever will in life. And now he’s going to host the Grammys, in 3D.

Pictures From Michael Jackson’s Funeral

Earlier, the Jackson Three, who must still think their dad is away on business, were given more money to muddle along:

A judge has agreed a £10,000 boost to keep the youngsters in the style they are used to. Lawyers acting for the children appealed to increase the amount to £55,000 a month, say court papers. They had argued that the current sum paid to Jacko’s mum Katherine, 80, was not enough to make ends meet.”

Anorak’s Man in LA brings news of that Grammy show – look kids, dad’s back – and he’s being milked:

The Grammy Awards have stumbled onto a whole new way to exploit Michael Jackson’s memory, while at the same time hyping the January 31st CBS broadcast.

The big night will include the broadcast of Jackson’s 3-D mini-movie “Earth Song” which was produced for his “This is It” concert dates in London, but has never been seen by the public.

CBS is partnering with Target to provide free 3-D Grammy glasses.

Jonas Brothers, Black-Eyed Peas And Katy Perry’s Cleavage Present The X Factor Free Grammys, In Pictures

TIME for another music industry AGM and we look at the Grammy nominations. The usual suspects are all name checked: Beyonce Knowles (10 award nominations), Taylor Swift (8), and The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West (6 each). That might sound a lot but with 109 categories to be nominated for, Beyonce and the big sellers may feel short changed. As for Simon Cowell’s reality TV – American Idol, X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent – concoctions, there is not a single nomination. Simon Cowell didn’t kill music – he just put it into a category marked “CRAP”. Here’s the breaking news in pictures:
