Huge Vulture Hangs Over Glasgow
GANDALF, the seven-year-old female Ruppell’s Griffon vulture called Gandalf, is on the loose in the skies over Glasgow. Gandalf has escaped the World of Wings in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.
Warning: If you’re feeling a bit poorly in Govan and thinking of lying down on a park bench to recuperate after a session celebrating the TV working or finding matching socks, might be best not to.
World of Wings director David Ritchie tells the BBC:
“She was taking part in her daily display and started to soar. She got caught in the wind and just went higher and higher until she disappeared.”
