TO Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, Dublin,to see Paul McGrath watch the game and Manchester United thrash an Airtricity Select XI 7-1. Not too long ago Wayne Rooney was smoking a fag and urinating against a wall. Now he looked fit and hungry and ready to play against Chelsea in Sunday’s Community Shield.
We also saw new signing Hernandez – who obligingly goes under the Abba-esque terrace chant-waiting to-happen nickname Chicharito. He scored. There is hope for tomorrow.
