In Pictures: ‘Dead’ Soham Killer Ian Huntley’s Throat Slashed By Lunatic

DOUBLE child killer, Soham’s Ian Huntley, 36, was taken to hospital after his throat was slashed by another prisoner at Durham’s Supermax jail Frankland.

Prison Inspectors have already raised serious concerns about violence in the jail which holds some of the UK’s top Category A terrorists and serious offenders.

Huntley, 36 was under heavy guard at a hospital outside the jail where he is serving two life sentences for murdering schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.

School caretaker Huntley is serving the double life sentence for killing the schoolgirl chums who were both 10, after they vanished from their homes in Soham, Cambridgeshire, in August 2002. He was jailed in December 2003 with a minimum term of 40 years.

A Prison Service spokesman said: “A prisoner at HMP Frankland was assaulted by another prisoner at about 3.25pm on Sunday 21 March. The prisoner was taken to outside hospital for treatment. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.”

First to re-write it’s Front Page with a Press Association announcement and break the news Huntley was back inside Frankland was the provincial newspaper The Rugby Advertiser (good for it) with:

‘Soham murderer Ian Huntley is back in prison after an attack by a fellow prisoner left him needing hospital treatment.’
