Faith Matters Report On Conversion To Islam In UK Becomes A Media Scare Story
THOSE 100,000 new Muslim converts in the UK are causing excitement at the Daily Mail – and some questionable maths. The Mail and managed to link all Muslims to terror. Before we go all Muslim, Richard Bartholomew has an update:
A NEW report published by the think-tank Faith Matters, entitled A Minority within a Minority: A Report on Converts to Islam in the United Kingdom, has garnered some media attention for its claim that there may be 100,000 converts to Islam in the UK. Although this is higher than expected, the author, M.A. Kevin Brice, explains that this is “an estimate only, and as such should not be given a high level of confidence”.
Further, “it is not claimed that this figure represents the number of current practising converts to Islam in the United Kingdom” – Brice notes that some will have lapsed or since converted to other religions. Brice also makes clear that, at most, converts make up 4% of the Muslim population and 0.2 per cent of the British population:
There is no evidence of a mass conversion of the population and this is hardly the beginning of the “Islamification” of the United Kingdom as is suggested by some groups (both pro- and anti-Islam).
… which is why the Independent decided to unleash its inner tabloid with this headline about the report:

Daily Mail Links 40,000 British Muslims To Terrorists
THE Daily Mail would like its readers to know that in the past ten years 100,000 British people have converted to Islam. Or as the paper puts it:
Despite terror attacks, 100,000 Britons convert to Islam in past decade – with white women most keen to embrace Muslim faith
Yes. Those terror attacks by Islamist nutters have not yet managed to corrupt an entire religion and turn people away from a branch of spirituality.
Or maybe those white women have married Muslim men, some of whom might even be white as well?
Or maybe – just maybe – these 100,000 converts are a new model army turned onto Islam because the violence is so damn seductive?
Or maybe the headline is just utter anti-Muslim bollocks? Having read that 100,000 Britons have converted to Islam in a decade, we are later told:
In 2001 there were an estimated 60,000 Muslim converts in Britain. Since then the country has seen the spread of violent Islamist extremism and a number of terror plots against the country, including the July 7 bombings.

Christmas Is Evil: Fanatical Islam And Daily Mail Agree
MEET Abu Rumaysah. He says Christmas is evil. Boo! Hiss! Can Mr Rumaysah be the new Islamist panto villain we’ve been waiting for ever since wire bearded Omar Bakri left the Islamist scene and Abu Hamza went to jail? The Mail shares few a words with the man who has stuck up posters in Tower Hamlets, east London, decrying the evils of Christmas. Read what he says below.
If your replace the word “Islam” with “Great British values”, Abu could be reading from a letter he’d written for the paper:
“But our main attack is on the fruits of Christmas, things like alcohol abuse and promiscuity that increase during Christmas and all the other evils these lead to such as abortion, domestic violence and crime. We hope that out campaign will make people realise that Islam is the only way to avoid this and convert.”
The group runs a website called xmasisevil.com. Again, it reads like a Daily Mail letter:
“If Jesus were alive today would he join you. Of course you know very well he would not, he is someone who called for goodness and condemned evil.”
If Jesus were alive today he’d support Spurs and have a timeshare in Miami. He’d also be turning Muslims onto Christianity.
The Star’s Tom Savage tells of “fury”. But one Anorak writer who lives in the area says she can’t find any evidence of fury, and realises that the posters will soon be covered up by another poster for the Fistmas sex party (this years it’s at a disused church Stepney). And lastly, there’s Abu’s song. It’s rubbish. His 12 Days of Christmas lacks punch, rhythm, and raw singa-longa-bility:

Coventry Teen Darius Gill ‘Knifed’ On Facebook By Muslims And Whites
DARIUS Gill is 13. He lives in Coventry. He attends Sidney Stringer Academy He wrote in praise of the British troops in Afghanistan: “RIP TO ALL THE LADS WHO NEVER MADE IT HOME.” And then he was targeted on Facebook by five boys and one girl. They called him a racist.
They are all aged 12. The Mail says they are “five Muslim boys and one white girl”.
One white girl? Is she a Muslim? Or is Islam is now a colour in the Mail?

FIVE Muslim schoolboys threatened to kill a classmate on Facebook — because he posted comments supporting BRITISH troops.
The Coventry Telegraph says two pupils threatened him.
Darius’s father is “Asian”. His mother is “white”. His religion is not given. Here is a selection of messages posted:

The Strange Case Of Asia Bibi: Christian Sentenced To Death For Blasphemy In Pakistan
ASIA Bibi is a Christian in Pakistan. She’s been sentenced to death for blasphemy. Asia Bibi is 45, says the Telegraph. Although this site news she is 37.
She has five children, says the Telegraph. Although the ANS nws service says she has four. The Pakistan Christian Post says she has two.
The key fact remains not in dispute: a court in Sheikhupura, near Lahore, Pakistan, has found her guilty of blasphemy.
The story goes that she was working at a farm. She worked with other women in the fields. The other women were all Muslim. When she brought them water to drink some refused it on the grounds that she is a Christian and “unclean”. Her water was no good to them.

Why Do West Midlands Police Not Watch Birmingham’s Muslim Community On CCTV But Gawp At Everyone Else?
CHRIS Sims, the West Midland Police Chief Constable, is “deeply sorry” for sticking up 200 CCTV cameras in the “Muslim” area of Birmingham’s Sparkbrook and Washwood Heath districts as part of Project Champion.
Says he:
“I am sorry that we got such an important issue so wrong and deeply sorry that it has had such a negative impact on our communities.”
Communities? What is a community and can you be a member of more than one at the same time if you’ve not been to the meetings, which seem to be largely held in secret?
“My real regret is that Project Champion has undermined the strong relationships that exist between West Midlands Police and our communities that have been built up over many years.”
Our communities? Police communities?
“When I became Chief Constable in 2009 I put strengthening the trust and confidence of communities at the heart of the changes we would make to policing.”

Six Arrested For Burning Korans In Gateshead: Jacob Isom And God Are Missing
IN Gateshead, Northumbria, they are burning the Koran. Unlike Terry Jones, who claimed god told him not to do it, the British book burners revived no divine intervention.
(For those less enlightened than Pastor Jones, God sounds a lot like millions of people screaming: “What the fuck are you doing, you twat?!”)
Say the police:
“The arrests followed the burning of what are believed to have been two Korans in Gateshead on September 11. The incident was recorded and a video placed on the Internet.”
It’s on YouTube. You can see the video and hear the men, arrested for allegedly inciting racial hatred:

Babar Ahmad: Jailed And Abused By UK Police For An Alleged Terror Crime In The US
WAS Babar Ahmad, as devour Muslim, assaulted by four police officers – Pcs Nigel Cowley, 33, Roderick James-Bowen, 40, Mark Jones, 43, and Det Con John Donohue, 36 – on 2 December 2003? The system at Southwark Crown Court will decide. The four men will plead not guilty.
When Mr Ahmad was arrested in Decemebr 2003, the four accused were working in the Metropolitan Police’s territorial support group (TSG).
Simon Clement, head of the CPS special crime division said in August 2010:
“Mr Ahmad suffered a number of injuries during that arrest, including heavy bruising to the head, neck, wrists and feet.”
The talk is of 73 injuries.
On 18-Mar-2009:
In a historic, unprecedented victory, the Metropolitan Police admits full liability for subjecting Babar Ahmad to grave abuse tantamount to torture and offers to pay him £60,000 (US$100,000) in damages. The admission, at the High Court in London, receives worldwide press coverage. Babar Ahmad is present in court to hear the admission.
Right now Mr Ahmad is being held in Long Lartin prison in Worcestershire. Babar Ahmad, 36, is the longest-serving prisoner held without charge or trial in the UK.

Islamophobia And A Jedi Plot To Kill The Pope
MORE on that “Muslim plot” to kill the Pope – the alleged “joke” by six men of North African origin that conveniently hit the media at the same time the head of MI5 was talking up the threat of terrorism at the London Olympics. The Daily Express called it a “Muslim plot” on its front page.
Only it wasn’t a plot cooked up by all Muslims to kill the Pope. In the much the same was as the 18-year-old man arrested after a laser beam was fired at a police helicopter during the Pope’s visit to Glasgow was not part of a Christian / Jedi plot to kill the Pope.
You might suppose that when the “Muslim plot” turned out to be nothing of the sort, the Express would put a huge sigh of relief on its front page? Not a chance. The follow up story was buried on Page 9.

Islamophobia And A Convenient Plot To Kill The Pope
THE six men feared to be Muslim and of North African extraction – all arrested for their parts in an alleged plot to blow up the Pope – have been released without being charged.
The six men feared to be Muslim and foreign were arrested on the same day Johnathan Evans’ (he’s the head of MI5) warned us that unless more resources where given to UK security, bombers would hit the country hard.

Bar For Islamic Gays To Open Next To 9/11 Mosque
PLANS to build a mosque next to the site of 9/11 are creating a heated debate. Greg Gutfield realises that whatever your isms, capitalism rules:
So, the Muslim investors championing the construction of the new mosque near Ground Zero claim it’s all about strengthening the relationship between the Muslim and non-Muslim world.
As an American, I believe they have every right to build the mosque – after all, if they buy the land and they follow the law – who can stop them?
Which is, why, in the spirit of outreach, I’ve decided to do the same thing.
I’m announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque …
This is not a joke. I’ve already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance.

Downing Street Protest League: Nationalists, Islamists, Islamist Anti-Fascists And Peaceful Muslims’ Day Out
FOR those of you unable to make it to Whitechapel for the anti-fascist march, there was day out to be had by Downing Street. For anyone bored by the World Cup and looking to behave like a travelling football fan, there was the chance to join the Islamists (black socks, back tops, white trim); the EDL (red and white tops with black boots); Unite Against Fascism (purple with hints of Islamist FC black); and moderate Muslims (white).
The police wore dark blue.

The 100 Least Women Friendly Mosques In Great Britain Are…
BEYOND Satire of The Day comes to us via the Bolton News, wherein we learn that “THREE Bolton Mosques are among the top 100 ‘women-friendly’ in England”.
Which are the 100 least friendly, then?
The three that are friendly towards women are: Zakariyyah Masjid mosque in Peace Street, Daubhill; Farnworth Mosque in Granvill Street, Farnworth; and Masjid Noor Ul Islam mosque in Prospect Street, Halliwell.
Better yet:
“Zakariyyah Masjid received the top rating of five stars while the others were given a four-star rating.”

The Blackburn Mohammad Peace March: Reactions
ON the birthday walk for the Muslim Prophet Mohammed in Blackburn, Lancashire. The Lancashire Telegraph says about 7,000 Muslims are on the walk from one side of Blackburn to another.
From Oak Street, Bastwell, to the Jaame Masjid Islamic Cultural Centre Mosque in Chester Street, they journey for celebration prayers, food and refreshments.
Says Zahid Ahmad, one of the organisers:
“It is with his blessing we have got all these people here today. We would like to say a big thank you to Lancashire Constabulary for all their efforts. To get 7,000 people to walk from one side of Blackburn to the other takes some organising! It’s a peaceful march
Zahid Ibrahim from Bolton said the event was a ‘celebration of peace’: “The main thing is offering love, peace and harmony to all mankind.”

Catholic Girl Refuses To Wear Leggings In Mosque, Prefers Uniform
WHEN Amy Owen was invited to attend a Mosque in Liverpool with her classmates as part of a geography field trip all students were ordered to wear long trousers and cover their heads while inside the building.
It’s part of “community cohesion-building”. Amy Owen refused to comply. Her mother was offended. And the Daily Star screams from its front page:
“BRANDED – Schoolgirl who refused to dress up as Muslim”
Branded? As in scarred for life?
The Sun explains in its headline:
“Girls branded a truant for shunning Muslim outfit”
If 14-year-old Amy will not wear the headscarf and cover her legs she will not be allowed to go. And if she does not go then she gets a black mark.
