Cannes 2012: Day 2 photos – Marion Cotillard adds star quality to Rust and Bone

CANNES  2012: Day 2 photos – Marion Cotillard adds star quality to Rust and Bone at the 65th international film festival, with added Matthias Schoenaerts. The film is about a woman with no legs who falls in love with a bare-knuckled boxer in Antibes on the Cote d’Azur. Oh, and for added realism, Cotillard trains killer whales. If the films are about escaping the normal to experience the quintessential human spirit somewhere else, this ticks the boxes. Well worth a look. Score: Three Orcas.

Leonardo DiCaprio And Marion Cotillard Giggle At Inception Premiere: Pictures

ELLEN Ellen Page, Leonardo DiCaprio and Marion Cotillard trod the carpet for the World Premiere of Inception, at the Odeon Leicester Square in central London. DiCaprio plays Cobb, a futuristic agent who seeks to implant an idea and save the day. It’s  a chance to get DiCaprio out of his linen shirts and shorts into a Bond-style suit. It works.

“A devilishly complicated, fiendishly enjoyable sci-fi voyage across a dreamscape that is thoroughly compelling. In a summer of remakes, reboots and sequels comes Inception, easily the most original movie idea in age” –  Hollywood Reporter, Kirk Honeycut

In Pictures: amfAR’s Cannes’ AIDS Gala And Madonna’s Charitable Bag

TO the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS 2010 fundraiser at the Hotel Du Cap, Eden Roc, Cap D’Antibes during the Cannes Film Festival. Some charities the celebs like: Aids charities is one. But as Roger Freidman notes, it can be a case of you back my charity or I’ll scratch ours.

When Madonna appeared in Cannes two years ago at the annual AmFAR dinner, she auctioned off her handbag and generally carried on… Now I’ve learned that AmFAR donated $1 million to Madge’s Raising Malawi charity to get her there…

Or as he said in 2008:

So say what you will, Madonna’s presence was her donation to the cause.

Penelope Cruz Does Ten From Nine At The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award: In Photos

WITH Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard to the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles. No rain. Christina Hendrick’s portico was not required. Old Mr Anorak, our patron, wants the ladies to know that he appreciates their efforts to come as a 2-4-1 package deal but, laws such as they are, and Utah and Mecca so far removed from Anorak Towers, he can only marry one at a time. Rest assured that each marriage will be thrillingly short and mutually rewarding:
