The super moon in fantastic photos

DID you see the super moon, the brightest full moon of the year? The moon’s eliptical orbit means that at times it is closer to the Earth. The moon is, on average, 237,000 miles from earth. Tonight that gap is 221,802 miles. Did you see it?

(It’s all an optical illusion, of course. The real moon is in Hollywood studio and is used for propaganda purposes.)

The Super Moon In Incredible High Resolution Photos: The Lunar Rock Looms Large

DID you see the moon? The super moon – did you see it? Anorak was on the south coast. The moon was huge and bright. The light hit the sea, casting a triangle of brilliance. Sometimes you just have to stop and stare as the moon was at its closest point to the Earth for almost two decades. Those who climbed St. Michael’s Tower on Glastonbury Tor saw the wonder. So too those who live in Manchester, where the moon glowed in technicolour. Click the photos to make them huge.

The Lunar Eclipse In Photos: Sweden Invades And A Pagan Orgy Begins

DID you see the lunar eclipse? We’ve got some photos of the moon starting to move into the Earth’s shadow. This is the first time the eclipse has occurred on the Winter Solstice since 1638.
