Naked Man Mounts Trafalgar Square

7757107JUSTIN Holwell is naked on the Trafalgar Square plinth as part of the ongoing One and Other art installation. Mr Holwell looks like Michelangelo’s statue of David, only not quite so butch and aroused.

And so Mr Holwell waits for someone to notice and – oh, dear god, please – for someone to be offended.

And here comes ex-detective Mark Williams-Thomas, his wife and children. They are “annoyed and upset“. His three children, aged between eight and 13 years old, are “very shocked and embarrassed“. The former wooden top complains to police.

It is not a crime to appear naked in public. And the detective and his outraged family can always walk on. No loitering. Nothing to see here. Mr Williams-Thomas then complains to the Metropolitan Police:

“This was a public place and therefore I should be able to take my children without the fear of them having a man naked exposing himself.”
