
CCTV cameras which can ‘predict’ if a crime is about to take place are being introduced on Britain’s streets. The cameras can alert operators to suspicious behaviour, such as loitering and unusually slow walking. Anyone spotted could then have to explain their behaviour to a police officer.

Do you think the people who ‘thought’ this one up would pass a Turing Test?
Or are the police going to be able to diagnose the many and varied medical causes of ‘unusually slow walking’?
We will need to rewrite the steroid card to include being tasered, but I’m dubious about the chances of even the most enlightened members of the constabulary being able to deal with an adrenal crisis.
On the plus side the lawyers should do well…
