IN the Anorak Forums, Yampster looks at the Aston Martin Cygnet, and weeps:
We’ve put up with a lot in this country since the war. We’ve seen the loss of the Empire, we’ve seen Sterling drop from it’s position as one of the world’s safest, most trusted currencies. We have seen our once proud Navy reduced to a couple of armed trawlers in the Straits of Hormuz.
We’ve seen the army that saw off Napoleon, Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo sent home from Iraq with its tail between its legs. We’ve seen tinpot dictators like Armanidinnerjacket thumb his nose at us but we have always had certain standards that we could fall back on.
But this…….this is the last straw.
Ian Fleming will be a sub-terranean blur by now.
“Small is beautiful these days,” Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin’s chief executive, said yesterday. “We have to move on from the preconceived ideas regarding what Aston Martin is about.”
Those ideas are being shattered…
Get a Tata nano, nto a Ta-ra Aston.

I want one. I have a Smart (my second one) and love it but a baby Aston? Bring it on. AND in pink. woweeee.
Top of my want list is Bentley Continental Convertible. Oh that is just so gorgeous.
2nd has always been an Aston M and I’ve got the Merc. (sort of)
Then I go retro (in my head of course) MGA. TR2. E type.
I also love the Saab convertible. The saloon does nothing for me and the old sporty Merc.
Mind you, this is the person whose first car was Ford Popular 100E.
was thinking about my cars but have had too many to list. Love em. Can’t see me ever growing out of loving cars.

Well, if you give it out, you have to take it. So there’d be no complaints from me!

I want one! It’s all about the badge! Mercedes do the smart cars, so why not?
Ian Fleming, incidentally, gave Bond a Bentley which had been rebuilt following an accident by the previous owner. I think? I’m sure it was only in the films that he got an Aston. But, I could be wrong?
