OK, technically it’s just over the Islington boundary, but the principle is the same.
I don’t know why, and I don’t know how, but God can really screw up at times.
You would think that one nation under God could manage to agree with each other on occasions, particularly when the occasions involve the end of the world as we know it, ie. the removal of people with cartloads of dosh sneering at the hoi polloi as they consider how to spend their bonuses.
Madame La Guillotine was a fast and market tested solution to the problem, but did Congress employ it?

We are left with Bush appealing to us, and hoping for the implausible prospect of someone managing to ram it through the heads of the people doing the voting that the financial market has ceased to exist, and that if they are not careful they might cease to exist too.
It was all so much easier with conventional weapons of mass destruction; just invade anyone you think may possess them. We need the equivalent of UN weapons investigators to do the same to the financial weapons of mass destruction, because until we do no-one will trust anything that the probable possessors of such weapons say…
