Big Brother Emily Parr Feels The heat
BIG Brother Emily “Niggers” Parr says she has received death threats. A respondent on her blog tells her: “I’m going to hunt you down, girl.” That shouldn’t be too hard – Emily’s talking with heat magazine.
Says Emily: “Me and Charley were good friends in the house. I know it offended people, but it’s a term used rather loosely among my friends – black and white.”
She goes on: “I’ll always be gutted by what’s happened. There’s no amount of words that can cover up how stupid I’ve been.”
But it she was forced to choose one…

OMG dats unfair i no u dint meen it emily she dint meen it in da slightest of offences!!! she seems a lovely gal n i believe dat she isn’t in the wrong here!! She is innocent!!!

I don’t think the girl should be receiveing death threats but that doesn’t mean that what she said was right! Regardless of whether it was said as a joke or not, it should NEVER have been said. In fact, the way in which she so flipantly and naturally said it is even worse. Charlie was offended by it, and even if she wasn’t wasn’t, Nikki and Laura both were. I’m sorry Emily, but you can’t even use your age here as you are 19 years old and being a smart girl (as you claim to be), I’m sure you know right from wrong!! I felt uncomfortable watching it and even more uncomfortable with the way in which Emily so adamantly argued that it was not a racist word. IT IS! I am 100% white and I even found it some what offensive especially with Emily’s reaction afterwards which was evident that she couldn’t care less, as long as the rest of house didn’t find out. Saying all that I think that people issuing death threats are even more wrong and it’s the wrong attitude to apply to the situation as two wrongs DO NOT make a right.

Emily may be smart, but she is very nieve to think that she could use the word nigger, especially since the Jade incident. It’s pretty obvious that she didn’t mean to cause any offense - she just needs to learn to think a bit more before she speaks
