Madeleine McCann: Have You Seen David Beckham?
ITV lunchtime news has just broadcast David Beckham’s appeal on Spanish TV for news of Madeleine McCann.
Why?
ITV broadcasts in the UK, and the media over here is full of pictures of Madeleine McCann, who went missing in, er, Portugal.
And, of course, we have seen pictures of Madeleine’s parents. Lots of them. Look, says ITV, get a load of the pain”etched” on the parents’ faces.
ITV and its team care. They are on the scene. The brodcaster operates cameras and equipment and could use investigative know how to help in the search for Madeleine. But - hold on - look at the parents. Look at their faces. “All this week, we’ve seen those parents looking…well, just dreadful,” says ITV anchor Katie Derham.
Not all week, Katie. Haven’t we just seen David Beckham? Made a nice change. And did everyone see his hair?..

beckham made an appeal because it is widely believed that maddy is now in spain. the maddy case hasn’t really featured on spainsh tv in recent days but since beckhams appeal was broadcast at lunchtime its the top story again over here again, so don’t criticise him for raising much needed awarness!!!!

no criticism of him. In the Soham murders he went on air - the girls were wearing Beckham Manchester United tops. The broadcast was on ITV - in the UK! Raising much needed awareness in the UK…in the midst of a news bulletin…

What a shame the tabloids are boring you with their story of an innocent child, possibly in the hands of some sicko… don’t worry, they will soon tire of this boring tale and get back to something that worthy of your attention like the the latest exploits of Paris Hilton or Pete Doherty.
Hope you never get into the desperate situation Madeleine’s parents find themeselves in.

i agree with marianna, beckhams plee can only be a good thing as it will raise awareness in spain, i strongly believe looking at the maps that is where she is , it is all primary roads down to gibraltar and also opposite north africa , but then hey who am i , if i can see it then surely the proffesionalls can

Rather than feeling uselessand helpless try positive prayer…I am not a religious nut… it is to do with visuallising and creating what you focus on. lets all focus on that lovely little girl’s happy face when she is reunited with her parents, lets not focus on their pain but on a happy outcome, lets try our best to really believe all will be well, imagine her happy and back with her family. If you think this is mad or will be of no help, look at ‘The Secret’ by R Byrne on Amazon and see how this focissing relates to ancient wisdom as well as genuine spiritual beleifs. We are very powerful together. I will be doing this constantly when ever i think of her. Do try it too, Love to them all

wow you guys are retarded. There is alittle girl missing and all you can talk about is David’s hair?!?! You people really need to learn how to write a decent story or whatever you are trying to do. He went on the air so people would know what was going on. It seems like you don’t even want this little girl found nor do you want the freak who took her hung. You have no heart. Get over David’s hair focuson the fact that no one, incuding the people who didn’t even know her, wants her parents to have to identify her body. So try and write something about the fact that more people should know about this.

Can someone please explain things to Nicole… ITV is in the UK, Beckham is in Spain. Over here the story does not need a celebrity angle, however newsworthy ITV deems it to be. There is only one horrible story - it needs no embellishments…

All this bollocks about paedophiles and adoption rings is a joke. If I was going to take a kid to sell it, I’d take a pre-verbal 2 year old, not a walking, talking, almost-4 year old. The only people who really know the truth are her parents. Guilt is a terrible thing, the truth will out.

Dont you think the parents will be going over and over in their minds that if they hadnt done this or if they hadnt done that then maddy might be here!!!!!! We never know what we would do if we thought we were in a safe environment!!!
Look at Ben that was stolen from their garden in Kos, Should his mother not of let him out into the Garden????

I still think there’s more to this story than we’re being told. No-one will say it, because they’re rich, white people, but most kids are killed or injured by someone they know.
Think about that.
I think that poor kid had an accident, broke her neck or smething, and the parents realised that questions would be asked and charges would be pressed due to their CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE.. 2 hours before they called the Police, time to get their stories straight and dispose of her.

i’ve just been reading all of your comments.
maddie’s parents were wrong in leaving three children under the age of four in a room on their own while they went out to eat. im sure they know that now and will live with that for the rest of their lives. i personally wouldnt leave any child of mine in a room on their own especially in another country while i went out. but different people have different ways of bringing up their children.
you can tell that maddie and the twins are not neglected or abused in any way. this probably sounds horrible as i do think they have been punished enough, especially if maddie doesnt come back alive or at all, but i do feel that if this was in england that they should be charged with leaving the three children.
parents are there to protect their children and her parents have failed and will blame themselves forever. i have already said that i wouldnt leave my child alone but you never know until you are in that situation yourself. she may have simply walked off, though i dont think this is possible. its more possible that sickos did take her, did what they did and got rid of her, or they have sold her on.
i dont think we will ever get our maddie back. the police have been too slow in stopping cars and vans and maddie could be miles away now, living another life. all we can do is hope and pray that she is safely returned or have a very peacful life if she is still alive with her new parents if she has any.
the parents shouldn’t be judged for what they did, they have their own guilt to live with and as i have said before, no one knows what they would actually do if they were in the same situaion for example women always say that if they got raped they would fend off their attacker, but most of my friends who have been raped have said you just freeze and think that its not happening to you.

yes i can blame the parents i have my own right to my own personal opionion and in my eyes they have done wrong.
i know they will live with this for the rest of their lives, especially if maddie doesnt come back, but it doesnt change the fact they were left in that situation in the first place!!!
