MPs Yellow Ribbons And Creepy Behaviour For Madeleine McCann
THEY’RE showing off their support for Madeleine McCann in the House of Commons. Gordon Brown’s eyes “filled with tears” (Sun) as he held the hand of Madeline McCann’s aunt Philomena.
Says Mrs McCann: “His eyes filled up with tears, he was every emotional…he said he would do as much as he possibly could.”
So what’s he going to do? Find Madeleine? For now, Gordon’s plans are a little vague.
Maybe he’ll wear a yellow ribbon like other MPs in the chamber.
As Matthew Parris writes in the Times:
Yellow ribbons for Maddy in the Commons chamber. Yuk. What disgusting, mawkish, creepy behaviour by pathetic MPs hoping to tap in to the emotions of the mob, to live like the common people, feel what the common people feel. “Look, I’m blubbing too, just like you: vote for me.”
Forget kissing babies. This lot want to save them…

Commons chamber wearing the yellow ribbons would appear a better show if the ribbons were to show hope for all the missing children. Otherwise, the effort will come across like discrimmination. So, the Commons chamber is so use to the practice of discrimmination that possibility goes unnoticed to them? Do they only have a chosen few they worry about???? Does Gordon Brown personally call all the parents of missing children or go for a visit? I don’t know. Do all America’s missing children parents get kissed by Laura Bush’s dog? People who complain might have a point that the people in high places are appearing elitist with some kind of an agenda… ???? Then the people who can’t help but notice and complain are considered a “hate campaign”??????? Come on get a grip on it!!!!!!! Maybe this is an example of how all issues are handled?

if it was a single mother or father or in fact a family less well off than the mccanns would they be seen as blameless after leaving thoses poor children alone for so long….i dont think so, although i wish her to be found safe and sound they behaviour of the parents has to be lookied into.
June 12th, 2007 at 9:30 pm
Here here Rebecca, I couldn’t have put it better myself. If everyone could put the same amount of effort into finding Maddy as they do to blaming the parents, she may have been found……she is 4 years old, alone, scared.. come on lets leave the blaming till we find her hopefully safe and sound….listen to yourselves !
June 11th, 2007 at 1:16 am
Why can,t everyone shut up blaming the parents we all have left our children alone for some period of time at one stage or another. The thing is no one suppected anything because we thought it was safe.Precisely what madeline,s parents thought also but tragically that wasn,t the case in that supposed safe resort in portugal. All i can say is you have to be the lowest of the low to take anybody,s child away from them.It is the sickest thing you can do .I just despise the shit head who took her he she it needs to be locked up and the key thrown away life imprisonment is not enough end of story
June 9th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
poor little maddy. i pray shes well and has better parents now than the ones she had.
June 9th, 2007 at 12:31 pm
lord, where is that poor child? don’t the parents look like theyre not really suffering? i would be a basket case. i reckon the police should look closer at them.
June 9th, 2007 at 12:29 pm
the parents need charging. how dare they leave those little kids alone. disgusting pigs.
June 9th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
while i agree that poor little maddie may have been pre chosen by some sicko to be targeted, it still doesnt let her neglectful parents off the hook. they should be charged, and thats that. poor little girl. i too have NEVER left my little babies to toddlers alone, and it sickens me that people do so. i have even heard of cases where parents drop their ten year old at the beach for the day alone. the mind just boggles, and i am constantly shocked and amazed at people.

My heart goes out to madeline,s parents. No one has the right to argue the situation in reflect of the little girl,s parent,s that they should,nt have left the children. This disgraceful thing happened and we should be concentrating on the little girl,s safe return. As for the monster that took her in the first place he she it should be tortured like these parents are in what they are going through worring themselves to death about their beautiful child .The police have to do more.I hope to god madeline is found that nasty person who abducted her should rot in hell
June 7th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
If I left my kids alone for a bit while I went off for a meal down the road.. and my chikd went missing.. can you imagine what the press would do to me..
RIP ME TO SHREDS!
I hope she is found soon.
June 2nd, 2007 at 3:42 pm
The family are probably complicit in the disappearance. Why set up a limited company for the cash not a charity? As they’re both religous nutters, they have probably sold her to an extreme Catholic sect. Dont discount it, stranger things have happened. The whole thing stinks of something…….

I remember a few years ago in America, a certain Jacob Calero trustingly left his 11 year old son watch over his 5 year old brother while waiting for their grandma(who lives 30 mins away) pick up them up for a much awaited weekend ski trip.
He was trying to catch a plane and still needed to pick up his wife in her mom’s house so they could hop on their plane and spend new years eve with friends in Las Vegas while his kids enjoy their once cancelled ski trip with grandma(his ex-mother-in-law.)
An hour before New Year’s Eve, Jacob’s ex mother in law called the police saying she “suspects” that her grandchildren are home alone. She contacted the media on how his ex-son-in-law left his kids to go to Las Vegas with his wife. Then coached her 2 grandkids against their biologic dad and his wife. Due to the media frenzy and public outrage, the parents were arrested and thrown in jail as soon as their plane landed back home. The kids were given to the melodramatic ex-mom-in-law.
Months later, in a separate trial, it was found through more reliable witnesses and further evidence that his ex-mother-in-law was behind all these and she later admitted to having contact with the couple and kids all through out the time she said she “suspect” they were left home alone. T
I guess the question here is, if someone as trustworthy as grandma could use her own grandkids as bait against her ex-son-in-law , which trustworthy person in madeleine’s life could have put her in danger, maybe unintentionally, when this was actually hate crime directed towards her parents?

Oh come on, for crying out loud. Of course this is a tragedy - we all know that. But sadly, that’s life. There are thousands of tragedies taking place all over the world every single day.
But the two things which are patently obvious to anyone with half a brain are: a) that the media are making a sentimental soap opera out of the ‘little Maddie’ story which people are loving being extras in, as they did after Di’s death, Dando’s death etc.
And b) that yes, it WAS the parents’ fault, whether they are going through guilt and remorse now or not. I wouldn’t have left my daughter alone in a strange place at that age for even five minutes unless I was in the building, let alone for thirty. For boganhound to say that ‘every 30 minutes that’s way more than enough’ shows his sheer ignorance about the responsibilities of being a parent.
The fact is that if the McCanns wanted the kind of holiday they clearly did - living it up in local restaurants - they should have left their children at home with grandparents or other relatives. What would babies have got out of a holiday like this?
Kev puts it in a nutshell when he says that whether someone who would leave one and three year old children for as long as the McCanns did are criminals or not, one thing is certain - they sure as hell are bloody awful parents. And this poor child is paying the price.
May 24th, 2007 at 5:42 pm
Why is it so harsh, Cara?
If I took my girlfriend to a restaurant, had a few bevvies, motored home and killed someone (HER, even) as a result of recklessness, I’d be prosecuted. And I’d damn well deserve it too. I’d be in mental and emotional agony for the rest of my life- would my pain and suffering as a result of my own negligence be enough?
Sure, the crucial difference is that there is a third party here. It isn’t Madeleine’s parents’ fault that she was abducted, the ABDUCTORS(S) himself/herself/themselves are responsible for that.
But leave your kids unattended and out of view in a room in a foreign country with an unlocked door, and you probably should, yes, be considered a criminal. You’re sure as hell a bloody awful parent.
Kev

jesus dave, that’s a bit harsh. i totally agree that the parents shouldn’t have left their children but i think what they are going through now, the waiting and wondering, is enough.
May 20th, 2007 at 6:07 pm
These parents should be prosecuted there is no question of that. Had they been lesser beings than the great gods of medicine people would have been slaging them off. They left theor cnhildren to go out and enjoy themselves. Yes they will have to live with it for the rest of their lives, hopefully after the twins are taken into care and the wife is sterilised to prevent suffering to other children she may care to give birth to without a thought for looking after
May 20th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
I, like the rest of you have been glued to this story, and find it so hard to believe there is no news. i do think the portugeese police know far more than they are letting on but that is because of the law there.
i keep hoping that there will be a break through any day now following the results of the computers taken from both the suspects and the russians homes
i pray everynight that this little girl is safe and hope she is returned to her parents soon
May 20th, 2007 at 4:13 pm
Ross…… well said!
I totally agree!

As yet, its is unconfirmed as to whther the child has been snathed or wandered of by herslef (perhaps cos her parents were out on the piss).
If she has walked off by herself and is now missing because of that - and NOT a kidnapping - then I am sure the media will portray this case very differently.
Again - no-one has been able to answer the question;
Why is this case recieving so much attention compared to the millions of children who are reported missing every year.
May 20th, 2007 at 6:37 am
The continued discussion about ‘responsible parents’ is misguided in my opinion. I just asked my 10 year old to cycle to the shop three blocks away to buy some milk. If an evil person decides to abduct him, does that make me a neglectful parent?
We are making devils out of the wrong people here. We should be able to leave our children asleep in bed (albeit with parents nearby) without someone creeping through the window to steal them. How we can stop these lowlifes is what we should be debating. Children have been abducted from their beds in their own homes, with their parents asleep in another room. Are they guilty of ‘neglect’ too?
May 20th, 2007 at 12:33 am
I would never leave my child alone because im a responsible parent. If the parents of madeline were 18 or 19 theyd be charged now with neglect. At the end of the day is comes down to bad parenting..what a shame i hope madeline is found x x
May 19th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
Whats so different?? That she’s been kidnapped in a different country to her own? Its not just a case of a British child whom is in Britain somewhere. Its a British child ANYWHERE in Europe. Thats whats so worrying. Also..why are people worrying about insignificant things? What could Gordan Brown do? The media about her is huge already? He’s trying his best? What would you do? Also..maybe we should start thinking about what the parents are going through. I’m sure thats what should be going through everyones mind! Think about what terrible things could be happening to this little girl and all you’re arguing about is his publicity. And I’m 16, I bet half of you are grown adults! My prayers and thoughts are with the whole McCann Familly.

Ahem ~ Excuse me ….. but what about all the other thousands of little children that have gone missing around the world in the last few weeks???
If only THEY got the coverage “Little Maddie” is getting!
It seems to me that the worlds media has a tendency to grab hold of a story…. run with it because they know it will sell….. then people get all emotional about someone they don’t know…….and it’s a way over-the-top response!!
For goodness sake! Children go missing every day around the world (usually through NO fault of the parents)…. (i.e: abduction/kidnapping, etc).
What’s so different between Madeline and other children that go missing, huh?? Why aren’t THEY as ’special’ as her??
Why doesn’t her family just co-operate with authorities (like most families have to do - but are never heard about) and conduct an intense ‘low-key’ investigation??
Also, doesn’t the press realise that EVERY time they chit-chat on television or in print about “bits & pieces of information coming to light” - that that gives the perpetrator a ‘heads-up’ on what’s going on???
Silly really.
He/she’s probably rubbing their hands together with glee going “yippee, another bit of information for us … now we can stay yet a further 2 steps ahead”.
I’ll say it again……What’s SO different about Madeline??
Hey, most parents don’t have the ‘luxury’ of having everyone in the world “looking for their little sweethearts” that go missing.
That said - I do hope she’s found safe and well (like I would wish for ANY parent who’s child has been abducted/kidnapped/stolen,etc)!.

There are people who claim Murats`and Malinka innocence, specially Murat`s family, but yes he might be a nice ex-husband,son and father towards his family but at the same time he can be a pervet in his sicret desires.Of course he wouldn`t announce to his family “small kids turn me on” cause it make normal people terrify. There are so many samples in crime history that pervets, maniacs were good inside their families and beasts outside. If Murat claims to be totally innocent, why on earth,he has this disguasting tapes in his house and why Malinka has the same inclination?that is the thread between them two.I believe thouse two men met on that ground. And morelikely there is huge chain of people behind them(russian mafia etc) I just wish madelin is alive, and nobody done anything evil to her.Maybe they just will release her somewhere, and people will find her.Lets hope….

when the police went to the villa (on sky news) and knocked on the gate the man wouldn’t let them in and the curtains were drawn (as shown) so i think there is something strange going on there (it must be very upsetting and scary for madline)however she may get back safely!
