John Bolton Reveals Much To BBC
JOHN Bolton, former UN ambassador to the UN, is in conversation on Radio 4.
EuRef tunes in:
IT is not often one whoops with joy listening to the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, but Jon Humphrys interviewing John Bolton, former US ambassador to the UN, this morning was a sheer delight. (You can listen to the piece here or here.)
From Humphrys we got the usual BBC droning, with forthright responses from Bolton. Eventually though, after a run of sneering negativity over Iraq, Bolton had had enough. What did it was the suggestion that the US was “a busted flush”, Humphrys calling in aid George Soros.
“Are you kidding me!”, responded Bolton. “This is a man of the extreme left. I am sure you will find a great deal in common with him, as would many others on the continent.”
A sniffy Humphrys was not going to take that lying down though. On the attack, he demanded: “Do you make the assumption then that because one asks questions – perfectly valid questions about the conduct of American policy - one is on the extreme left?”
Bolton was unfazed: “I can see it from the content of your questions and the perspective from which you’re coming and from the direction that your questions are taking. If you tell me you’re a conservative, I would be happy to accept it.”
That really got Humphrys going: “I would tell you that I’m neither conservative, nor left wing not right wing, nor middle wing, because…”
A laughing Bolton took that in his stride: “You have no views at all. Your brain is empty, you have no views at all…”
Attempting to muster all his majesty, Humphrys was almost squeaking in indignation: “I have an awful lot of views, Ambassador, a view for every subject under the sun but I don’t express them during the course of my interviews. I ask questions… That’s what interviewing is about… You’ll have heard of a thing called devil’s advocate… Maybe they don’t do it like that in the United States, but…”
“I know, you’re a superior Brit as well!” rejoins Bolton.
You can see why he really pissed them off at the UN.

radio 4:
you are an arrogant peice of scum. first of all, america was based on speaking their minds, but for you stupid britts; you are the stupid euros who want a one world government to be controlled by believing this war on iraq is about oil. what this war is actually about is protecting your stupid masonic butts while your stupid queen sells you out to the highest bidder. this is one of the reasons why my ancestors left your stupid country. both majors and your stupid fat queen are leftist(communist). i really don’t care what you believe. just believe this, the american military can wipe any country off the face of this globe. the u.n. has no say over the american sovereignty and neither does your country. stay there and leave us americans alone and please do take bill clinton and his dope along with his ugly ass wife and their stupid lesbian daughter chester the molester, chelsea, and make these socialists your queen and king and whore your leader. i am sure these idiots will protect you.

Its no longer “stupid american”, it’s “criminal american”. The only way to understand american politics is to treat it as a criminal gang. Then at least it’s actions make sense.
Oh and before anyone from the land of (latenight sneaky) uncle Sam starts in with the boring “yore jealous” response, it’s pity Europeans feel for Americans. Don’t worry, during the great depression Bush has precipitated, we’ll send food aid to the starving yanks no matter how stupid they are.

I like how the BBC interviewer references Soros as if for validation of his own views. Was there no British leftist of sufficient stature? Pretty small circle of anti-Neo-Cons - Soros and his buddies.

Ed - thank you!
A quick copy and paste and you’ve given me another hilarious email!
Yes, America IS great!

Ross,
When is the rest of “your world” going to realize the US does not care what the rest of the world thinks. John Bolton’s response is exactly what makes this country proud. Stand up to your critics and don’t accept the “stupid American” comments that are so easy to make from the sidelines. This interviewer can make his snide comments from the comfort of his radio studio to a former ambassador who made his mark by knocking some heads in the waste of real estate located in New York.
Good for John Bolton for standing fast. It’s what makes America great.

Heard it live in Radio 4 yesterday morning - was absolutely hilarious.
I have resorted to emailing my american friends with this clip with the subject - THIS is why the USA has no respect in the world anymore!
