Martin Bell On Necro News And Madeleine McCann

MARIN Bell is a former television war correspondent and politician. He has this to say about the current state of TV news reporting:

Foreign news is expensive and dangerous. So in many cases newspapers and TV networks have abandoned it, retreating into a comfort zone of celebrity stories, consumer news, sport, health-scares and crime. Especially crime. In the last 10 years or so, a particular category has been climbing up the news agenda to a dominant position. I call these stories “necro-news”.

They are about the victimisation of girls and young women. The death or disappearance of anyone from a toddler to a princess is the signal for a media obsession with these stories to the virtual exclusion of all others. The coverage is mawkish, exploitative and highly speculative.

We saw this with the deaths of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in Soham, with the Ipswich murders in December 2006 and most conspicuously with the abduction of Madeleine McCann in Portugal in May last year.

The BBC now accepts, I believe, that it was wrong to give the story the wall-to-wall prominence that it did, or to send its leading anchors to Portugal to front the coverage. But it still found space for a Madeleine story in its first 10 O’Clock News, going head-to-head with ITN’s revamped News At Ten. Both programmes were awash with necro-news.

This “murder porn” news is cheap. It competes for an audience among those who watch TV news. Not everyone does. Many get their news via the internet, or have no interest in it…

I believe Martin Bell has hit the nail on the head.
With 24 hour access to news reports, on TV, Internet etc, it’s become a case of News “overload”
rather than having to wait for a few select news programmes a day, where the news is condensed and “select” for want of a phrase, it’s now the case that TV and Internet have to FILL their programmes/pages , so will report almost anything. (including basing an ENTIRE article on the writings of ANOTHER newspaper!*!!*!*)

With this in mind and the time line such as it is, I have been thinking of the possibility of an abduction. Hold on before you scream ‘impossible’.

If you take the media ’statements’ , you have a 2/3 min window when JT saw eggheadman. I suggest eggheadman is a red herring.

O’Brian ? checked at 9-30pm, ok he didn’t actually see the kiddies but he also didn’t report an open window or door slamming when he entered the apartment. JT would have walked past the window on her way to and from her apartment - not reported open window. So, can’t remember when JT last walked past the window BUT isn’t it possible the abduction took place between 9-30pm and 10pm when KM found MM missing?
Forget what has been reported in the media for a moment re: dna, smell of death etc. Just look at the time line with regards to t9 activities ie checking on kids/walking past the window.
ok sleuths, tell me why this would be impossible?

    REPLY:

    1. KM *claims* to have found MM ‘missing’

    2. The McCanns and the ‘Tapas 9′ have nailed their colours to the mast with (a) Gerry’s ‘check’ (cough) at 9.05pm to 9.10pm, where he admits to entering every room in the apartment, looked at Madeleine and thought how lucky he was to have such a beautiful child (coughing fit) and of course more recently has said the abductor was lurking behind a door or under the bed or some place else and (b) Jane Tanner’s sighting at 9.15pm, which she has repeated.

There is no way they can alter that often-repeated timeline now.

    3. It was Matthew Oldfield, the bloke reportedly facing a medical negligence claim, who says he checked MM and the twins at 9.30pm, and says he was struck by how the apartment was ‘lighter than before’. Given that by 9.30pm it was now dark in Praia da Luz, that was a pretty stupid observation to make

  12. 12 Karen Says:

Martin Bell’s right - but he’s stealing other people’s ideas and inventing his own name for it. American hacks have been obsessing for years about the intrusion of tabloid values into serious news and they call necro news ‘Missing White Woman Syndrome’. We discussed it in my journalism class.

Tony - glad you responded and thank you.

What I am trying to say, take away JT’s sighting, is there a possibility MM could have been abducted between the hours of 9-30pm and 10pm?

I have also thought of emailing the cadaver dog trainer to ask if the dog can differentiate between human cadaver and beef, lamb etc? but lost the site addy.

I have my theory of what happened but have now moved onto air tightening that theory and the only way to do this is to question my own theory - if you understand?
If you have retired for the evening, I will catch up in the am.

  14. 14 annie123 Says:

    Tony

I have had some responces to my initial posting and what I find common is JT’s sighting which disputes my theory eventhough JT’s sighting is disputed.?

I am asking you all to forget about JT’s sighting. It is a figment of her imagination. What you are left with is the possibility of an abduction between 9-30pm and 10pm. How did I come by this you may ask?

    1) KM states the bedroom door slammed shut when she entered the apartment due to the window being open.
    2) 9-30pm check (Oldfield) - no indication of door slamming, only it was slightly ajar which indicates to me, no window open.
Therefore if there was an abduction, it occured between 9-30pm and 10pm.

Back to reality - wonder how long it takes the McScum to cotton onto my theory and put it forward in the press lol.

I have my own personal theory as to what happened to little Maddie. May she rest in peace bless her.

All avenues must be explored whether they fit your theory or not.

Please debate with me on this, it is something which I do believe needs exploring. The McScum are guilty of child abandonment, lets not jump on the band wagon and blame them for all the ills of the world.

  15. 15 Karen Says:

    Tony

re Matt Oldfield saying the apartment seemed lighter and you saying that it was dark. I never thought of that. It is a stupid thing to say. (although everything they say seems stupid - Tanner on Panorama said she thought it was unusual that ‘the abductor’ was wearing trousers and then said it was cold and she thought it was negligent that ‘the Madeleine’ wasn’t wearing shoes)

At the very least I think they weren’t checking the kids and if they are lying about the timeline then they deserve to be charged with something.

Where was Oldfield going ? I suspect it was to check on his kids, so he would have to go past the apartment at the front, then back again on the way back! Then there were others checking as well, backwards and forwards.

It has been previously calculated as someone passing the front of the apartment every 4 minutes.
IIRC this is why it has been said that no preditory abductor would have taken the risk!

REPLY: Annie, is quite possible to get in and out and grab a child in less than minute. As a FBI agent said who specializes in such cases - they can take your child in the snap of a finger. Now, what I did to prove to myself that such abductions take very little time - I did it! Lovely young couple across the street have 4 lovely little children. I stopped by and was talking with her and told her about this case and her immediate reaction, of course, was ‘why I never leave my children outside alone’ - ‘those kind of people all over the place.’ Anyhow, I asked her if I could try an experiment with one of her children but not frighten her, I promised. (Her children know me anyhow so knew I wouldn’t.) She went back inside and I had been inside their home, so knew the layout of the first floor (which would be similar to a one level apartment). Anyhow, walked in, walked up to the child, took her hand and said let’s go for a walk. She went willing with me - in less than 1 minute.

Now, did that happen a stranger go in and talk nicely to that young child to get her to go with him, if a stranger took her? NO. But it takes seconds to go in through a door, put your hand over the mouth of the child, pick up the child and get back out the door in less than a minute.

A man now sitting on death row in Florida, 2 1/2 years ago went in through the bedroom window where a young girl was sleeping in bed, with her Grandparents and Father sleeping in their bedrooms, grabbed her without a sound and took her back out through the window! He had been watching her for a week biding his time to grab her.

A man on the prowl for a young child was driving by a house where young children were playing in the fenced in front yard of a home. He stopped his car, jumped out, grabbed the young child over the fence and was gone before the mother could even get outside to stop him.

A man years ago had been watching a young girl, she was having a slumber party, her parents in the house asleep, he went in through the front door grabbed the girl he was targeting and left with her before anyone could stop him.

So, yes they do take chances - at night, in the mornings, all day long in broad daylight , if they are looking for a child they’ll find a child!

So, if she was indeed abducted by a stranger it was fast and easy to do if they had been watching the apartment closely and knew the comings and goings of the adults.

Over here we face reality that such people exist - far too many cases, way too often! We are educated on them, police give seminars on them, school PTA’s discuss such situations to keep parents aware…we don’t hide our heads in the sand that such people exist and are around us! They hit in nice neighborhoods; in nice parks; poor neighborhoods; where kids play on the streets.

    Inspectors of Maddie’s case unmotivated

    Diário de Notícias

The atmosphere within the core of the Judiciary Police (PJ) in the Algarve is very tense, after the PJ’s national director, Alípio Ribeiro, admitted “precipitation” in making the McCanns as “arguidos”, back in September 2007, for the suspicion of their involvement in the disappearance of their daughter in Praia da Luz, Lagos.

“Everyone is outraged and we feel unmotivated. What he said is not true. It’s just politics and nothing else that is behind all this”, said sources connected to the process, who feel in that in the words of Alípio Ribeiro a certificate of “incompetence” was given to the work undertaken so far by the Judiciary Police pertaining to “Maddie’s case.” Curiously, with the knowledge and consensus of the Public Ministry and of the British police, who has always followed the process.

The statements of PJ’s national director, to the radio program “Diga lá Excelência” of “Rádio Renascença” and to the “Público” newspaper, are causing some polemic debate, specifically in the midst of the judiciary sphere with several judiciary officers criticizing severely Alípio Ribeiro and with the General Prosecution Office stating that the situation of Madeleine’s parents will be evaluated “at the right time”. This after the couple’s requested to have their “arguido” status lifted in the sequence of Alípio Ribeiro’s words.

The statements of PJ’s national director that there was precipitation was unpleasantly received among the inspectors who follow the case and they take a critical significance to the investigation, particularly at a time when the inspectors are preparing to play a decisive card in England, in the sequence of the rogatory letters for questioning the couple and the seven friends that dinned with them at the Tapas restaurant, about 30 meters from the apartment of the Ocean Club resort.

The purpose of that, is to try to “make clear” once and for all, the situations that occurred in the evening of May 3, and as well investigate the “contradictions” in the statements given to the PJ by the parents of the child and their friends.

In the travel to the United Kingdom the Inspectors will also seize Kate McCann’s diary to be used as evidence in court, in which Maddie’s mum speaks of her difficulty in handling with a hyperactive daughter. Another object of interest for the investigation is the famous pink cuddly toy that the girl had always in her possession and that was put on view by the mother in Praia da Luz. The English sniffer dogs, experts in detecting cadaver scent reacted upon that object, which strengthened the suspicions of the police surrounding the death of Madeleine, after having expressed the same alert signal in the apartment from where the child was taken.

The PJ never believed in the kidnap version given by the parents and they were made arguidos in September after the English dogs sensed various locations where the corpse of Maddie passed through, from the apartment to the Church of Our Lady of Light [commonly known as Igreja da Luz (Luz Church)] in direction to the beach. How she disappeared and why are explanations that are yet to be revealed.

ASFIC does not comment on the statements given by the PJ’s National Director

The Criminal Investigation Officers’ Union (ASFIC) of the PJ refused to comment on the last declarations of the national director on the Maddie’s case, considering that the silence has more power than any comment.

« In this moment, the silence of the Union has more power than any word », told Carlos Anjos, president of the ASFIC, to the Lusa news agency.

« Our silence has a special meaning », highlighted Carlos Anjos.

Where shall we look for the Creepy Intruder or his cohorts helping him to hide the alleged body of poor Madeleine McCann? Shall we continue searching pig farms in Portugal, or shall we being looking in the UK’s 3rd largest bank?

This bank has direct connections to both Brian Kennedy and Richard Branson. In fact, on May 21 2007 it was announced that this bank was extending a huge loan of 60million to Mr Kennedy’s property development business, Patrick Property! Coincidence? When did Brian Kennedy decide to help out the McCanns? Remember, he was for quite a while “the mystery benefactor” until his identity was revealed in the Autumn, long after that huge financing was announced. Could it be that the delay in identifying him was intended to put a distance between the 60million in financing and his incomprehensible “compulsion” to help the McCanns?

Let us take another look at this bank.

    http://www.answers.com/topic/the-royal-bank-of-scotland-group-plc?cat=biz-fin
The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc
    Employees: 135,000
    Employee growth: (1.5%)

“It only seems like some banks print their own money — Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) really does. In fact, it has been producing its own banknotes for nearly three centuries. Operating as Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest, the company has approximately 2,250 locations that offer such services as deposit accounts, credit cards, and mortgages to retail clients in the UK. ”

Yes, and back in May, 2007, as Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest were the banks that offered over-the-counter processing of cash contributions to the FindMadeleineFund!!! Don’t forget that convenient service!!!

“Expansion and innovation continued in the second half of the 1990s. In 1996 the Royal Bank formed an independent offshore bank called Royal Bank of Scotland International. Direct Line expanded into roadside assistance insurance and in November 1999 acquired Green Flag, making Direct Line Rescue the number three roadside assistance specialist in the United Kingdom with nearly three million customers. In 1997 Royal Bank entered into joint ventures with food retailer Tesco PLC and Richard Branson’s Virgin Group, with both ventures specializing in branded personal finance products.”

Of course, Branson’s close financial ties to this bank have a history:

Royal Bank of Scotland in takeover talks with Branson’s Virgin One
Independent, The (London), Jul 16, 2001 by Liz Vaughan-Adams

“THE ROYAL Bank of Scotland is understood to have started talks to buy the 50 per cent of Virgin One, the banking business set up by Sir Richard Branson, that it does not already own.

While the deal is understood to value the Norwich-based business at around pounds 250m, Royal Bank of Scotland is thought to have tabled an offer for significantly less than half that sum for the outstanding 50 per cent of the company.

…Royal Bank of Scotland, which refused to comment on the speculation, is thought to be keen to expand its presence in the all-in-one current account and mortgage market.”

I think if someone at that bank were in trouble, they could perhaps count on Brian Kennedy and Richard Branson to help them out. Is there anyone at that bank in need of such assistance? Did someone need Brian Kennedy flying to Morocco, over-seeing the fake sightings of Madeleine, and inducing more of them by encouraging people to seek the big reward he was promising? He did all that, provided Clarence’s salary, etc without ever having met Kate and Gerry! He felt “compelled” to help them, he said.

But I say that this man is a consummate businessman, and does nothing that will not help his own business. Any clear-thinking person would wonder, “what’s in it for him?”

Does someone at the bank need to keep the McCanns out of the court-room at all costs? If so, why?

Branson plays white knight in the race to save the Rock
    by Danny Fortson
    The Independent
    Saturday, 13 October 2007

Sir Richard Branson has stepped in with a brazen rescue plan for Northern Rock, backed by a consortium of international financial heavyweights that includes former Royal Bank of Scotland chairman Sir George Mathewson and the renowned American turnaround artist Wilbur Ross… Northern Rock shares surged on the news, ending the day up 5.9 per cent to 273p, making it the FTSE 100’s biggest riser.

The dramatic entrance will shake up the auction of the troubled Newcastle lender, which has proceeded ploddingly since it became the first UK bank in more than a century to experience a run on deposits last month… Though financial details of Virgin’s plan remain scarce, it confirmed that Northern Rock would remain publicly quoted. The consortium would reverse its Virgin Money business into Northern Rock, rebrand it under the former…

James Hutson, an analyst at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, said the bid was “woolly”. He added: “The proposal focuses on addressing capital issues, whereas the core problem is liquidity/ funding…

Virgin said Jayne-Anne Gadhia would step in as chief executive of the new entity. The former head of Virgin One’s mortgage lending business, she left Virgin in 2001 when the unit was sold to partner Royal Bank of Scotland in 2001. She resigned from RBS in January and rejoined Virgin Money in March to head a renewed effort to get into the mortgage market, a hole in the business’s offerings…

Sir George Mathewson, who engineered several takeovers in his time as chief executive of RBS, including the purchase of NatWest, is a special adviser to the bidding group. Sir Richard said: “I believe that if we’re successful we’ll be able to create an exciting new banking alternative for everyone in the UK. I and my team have pulled together a heavy hitting consortium that we believe has not only the knowledge and expertise but the financial clout to make a once great British institution great again.”

Richard Branson, like Brian Kennedy, seems like a busy businessman, but wasn’t it sweet of him to become interested in a missing 3 year old girl whose family he does not know?

If you want to know why the case is so difficult to solve, the answer is above: financial clout. And these men have a lot of that. More than Portuguese pig farmers, to say the least.

    ‘I have a theory.

Maybe Madelaine is still alive. A complete mess but alive.

A drug trial was done on the wee girl. Maybe the trial had been going on for a while. Maybe the trial fucked up in Portugal. Something like her aging process suddenly speeding up or her body swelling up to twice the size (still prob fit in a blue bag the wee thing) or her eyes popping. Something really wierd like that.

Once this reaction to the drug happened a call was made to England for advice. The drug was top secret and had to have government approval in the first place. The government panacking a little and quickly realising the damage for such immoral research could be fatal decided in a cover up. The major financiers behind this drug trial also realised that good reputations will be ruined. So agreed to also finance the cover up and assist in any way possible. Supplying planes trips or 24 hour window repair service and the like.
Thus a flow of people into the saga. Clarrie coming on board to control the lot of them.
Gerry I think at this stage felt really safe. His back was covered and he started to enjoy the limelight. So much so that the whole business mushroomed too fast. He loved the centre stage, although he seemed more nervous when Kate was along side. He courted more famous people than most people see on tv in a life time. He turned it into a us v Portugal and many brits closed ranks and waved their private parts at the PJ. But the one major block to all this is that now the PJ wont take advice and give up. They are going to fight ‘David”. They won’t go away. Ha ha.

Back to a secret hospital…….somewhere in Scotland maybe…..
If Madeliene was alive still, maybe covered pussy lesions, her brain inflating and deflating pushing mucas out of her nose and ears! There would a proffesional need to investigate the effects and gain extra knowledge that would make this drug safe. Who knows it could a matter of eliminating one chemical reaction and this drug would be worth billions. High stakes. Say it was a cure for cancer. Maybe Madeleine did have cancer (she is small and has a funny eye )and for a while the drug worked.
At least it did till May 1st > may 3rd. When the nightmare started for the Tapas 9. Cause I reckon they know of the trail, or at least the majority do. But it seems more likely they were all in on it, including the cowardly Tapas 10 who wont come forward.

So she was kept alive and transported back to England/Scotland, via a private jet, no customs, where at this moment the best Doctors are working frantically to both discover the cause of Madeleines weird reaction and to keep her alive so they can release her in Morocco.
She was to be ready for release before Xmas but she had a relapse.

    Explains quick involvement of Government.
Explains why the McCanns have so many high profile financial backers.
Explains Gerry being allowed back to work.
