Campaign To Have Alastair Darling Barred From All British Pubs
THE campaign to have Alistair Darling barred from every pub in Britain is gathering pace:
As my impoverished Greek friend has noted, the campaign to get Darling banned from the nation’s pubs is gathering pace.
There is now a Facebook Group and, as Jim points out, a Tory MSP, Alex Johnstone, has even issued a press release.

Can we have him barred from Parliament?

Those unemployed due to ill heath, sometimes driven to alcohol dependacy due to depression or stress, have only one choice but to spend the majority of their money on alcohol. Putting the price of alcohol up will cause them to spend more of their £50-£75 a week income on alcohol not less. Do they get an increase in income support or incapacity benefit to compensate?
M and A
Wonder if Anorak mods get an increase too?
Don’t think they will after all those who don’t drink won’t , and the price of everything has gone up

What a puerile campaign. The sort of riff raff that think this is worthwhile inhabit just the sort of pubs no one with any taste would want to visit, so they are doing us all a favour by making it clear which ghastly watering holes to avoid. Thanks chaps.

Chris has an interesting point, viz. that people of taste can afford the extra tax to be collected for spurious purposes and that those hard and long working establishments, whose owners object to the budget, at the moment, rather than rebel, deserve desertion by even the plebian, but can he not see what he is saying?. The pubs are going to close in their thousands and the supermarkets will continue to fund the sleaze regime. Tobacco has been quelled and beer is next so when the fags go under the counter the barrels will have to go ON the bar. Sorry Mr. Politically Correct, but I`m going to bar everybody called Darling, AND Brown, and, of course, everybody called Chris.
