But the Labour Party was doomed the minute the middle-class started taking over in the 1960s. There was no way they were going to give up the perks of being middle-class and much as they try, they just don’t understand what it’s like to live on a low wage, or in a rough area (which is why they reward bad behaviour - poor thing had a bad upbringing - and punish responsible behaviour - they’re all right, aren’t they?).
