Boris Johnson On Islam

BORIS Johnson On Islam:

To any non-Muslim reader of the Koran, Islamophobia - fear of Islam - seems a natural reaction, and, indeed, exactly what that text is intended to provoke. Judged purely on its scripture - to say nothing of what is preached in the mosques - it is the most viciously sectarian of all religions in its heartlessness towards unbelievers. As the killer of Theo Van Gogh told his victim’s mother this week in a Dutch courtroom, he could not care for her, could not sympathise, because she was not a Muslim.

The trouble with this disgusting arrogance and condescension is that it is widely supported in Koranic texts, and we look in vain for the enlightened Islamic teachers and preachers who will begin the process of reform. What is going on in these mosques and madrasas? When is someone going to get 18th century on Islam’s mediaeval ass?

    haha awesome…

Most of the violence in the middle-east is caused by disputes over power, resources and territory. Nationalism has never managed to supersede tribal loyalties, Islam has been split into different sects since Mohammad died, the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, European occupations, Marxism, the 1st and 2nd world wars, the tough climate and our avid interest in their oil has kept the place in turmoil. Suicide bombers mainly kill Jews and other Muslims… All in, us banging on about their Preachers is nothing but a cheap shot.

Of course, it is Boris….

I totally DISAGREE with Boris, as he has probably never read the Quran himself, and thats why he doesnt know what he is saying. Lets just take one of his points, when he said, “As the killer of Theo Van Gogh told his victim’s mother this week in a Dutch courtroom, he could not care for her, could not sympathise, because she was not a Muslim.”

It is a basic rule in Islam that all parents, whether they are Muslim or not, are entitled to good and kind treatment from their offspring. At the time of the Prophet, many of those who embraced Islam had difficulties with their parents, but Prophet Muhammad taught them to be kind to their parents and to obey them except if they demanded actions that were contrary to God’s laws.

[And if they contend with you that you should associate with Me what you have no knowledge of, do not obey them, and keep company with them in this world kindly, and follow the way of him who turns to Me, then to Me is your return, then I will inform you of what you did.] (Luqman 31:15)

This verse specifies the way in which Muslims should treat their non-Muslim parents. It is clear that obedience to parents is required of every Muslim, but if that obedience comes into conflict with obedience to God, then a Muslim’s’ duty toward God comes first. And caring for the parents is what Islam promotes the most especially when they get to old age.

A man asked Prophet Muhammad “What kinds of deeds are best in the sight of God?” He replied, “To pray on time, to be good and kind to parents, and to struggle in the path of God” (Al-Bukhari).

Thus, kindness toward parents came between two of the most important religious duties that Islam lays on Muslims. The reward for being good and kind toward one’s parents was mentioned on several occasions by Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing that those who are obedient to their parents and to God also will be in the highest places in Paradise.

As what BJ was quoting came out in court, I suggest you take on the Dutch legal system.

Totally agree with Boris - glad to hear a politician happy to sacrifice Muslim votes in the interests of truth. Having heard of the disgusting murder of an Iraqi girl BY HER FATHER, just because she fell in love with a Christian British soldier, I think it’s about time we ban this medieval fantasy package.

Everyone is entitled to their own Religious beliefs but it works both ways. Any Muslim
enjoying the benefits of living in the U.K., by choice, I should add, should at least learn
English and try to integrate into the Community. We have always managed to show
tolerance to any Religion, but the Muslims appear to impose their traditions, ie dress,
schools, banks, Lawyers to name a few. It will only make the British born and bred more antagonistic as they feel threatened by this “Political Correctness” and Boris is
right to draw attention to the problems.

A gross misrepresentation of Islamic views in the media is very successfully transforming the Muslims of this world, not just this country, into the Jews of Nazi Germany. As a Muslim writer put it twenty years ago, “If ever there are Concentration Camps in Europe again, there is no-doubt as to who will be in them.

“A gross misrepresentation of Islamic views in the media is very successfully transforming the Muslims of this world, not just this country, into the Jews of Nazi Germany.”

Utter rubbish, Muslims use as a propaganda rant to establish themselves as innocent victims.

Jews were innocent and persecuted for nothing more than their race. There are 4,000 UK Muslims under terrorist surveillance, constant arrests and imprisonments that no longer even hit the headlines, a stream of hate preachers, hate literature in mosques, 1/3 want Sharia, many support apostasy death, we’ve got Bin Laden the Taliban and Al Qaeda, riots across Europe, death threats over cartoons and teddy bears, anti free speech hate and murder threat protests in London…..and in addition to all that and more, the great irony is the fact of Muslim anti semitic hatred.

Enough. This crap needs to be named and challenged for what it is, and naive ideas about multiculturalsim combined with post colonial guilt needs updating to the facts: just because someone is a minority, it does not mean they are nice or even acceptable.

Joe, don’t know if you’ve seen it or not, but there is another article about the fears held by the C of E

    Boris is spot on….
In spite of the vitreol I see muslims spitting about Boris…they will see that it was all for nothing. They will get the same equal treatment as anyone now, but not preferential treatment as they got fron Ken Livingstone.

As far as I am concerned (AND ive read the koran for thirty eight years as a teacher of religious education) as a non muslim, i’d be glad to see the back of this religion from UK if it ever left us…the bile and murder spouted from the pages are just wickedness. This is a very dangerous political theocracy.

I think people in the uk have realised this now, and are starting to stand up against it.
