Madeleine McCann Reconstruction To Go Ahead, Maybe
PORTUGUESE police want to reconstruct the night Madeleine McCann vanished.
Says the McCanns’ lawyer at a police conference in Faro in the Algarve: “We have little faith in the benefit of this step and how it can help to discover what happened to Madeleine. But there are strong indications it will go ahead.”
Clarence Mitchell, the McCann’s spokesman, said nothing had been decided.
“The discussions about the possible visit by all nine are still ongoing,” he said. “It is down to the friends - as well as Kate and Gerry - to decide whether they want to go back.
“Of course, Kate and Gerry would do anything they could if they thought it would help find their daughter.
“There are some serious questions surrounding the value of the proposed exercise and only when satisfactory answers have come in and all the friends are happy will it happen.”

I wonder whether it has ocurred to Clarrie that if the PJ did the re-enactment with stand-ins, following the statements as elucidated in the further interviews, and filmed it, then it could prove extremely embarrassing?
After all, if the T9 are actually there it would give them the opportunity to suddenly remember something which might make the sequence of actions seem more plausible.

according to the last tv news in Portugal, this evening, the reconstruction will be on May 30th.
I understood those were the words of one of the Portuguese lawyers of the McCann’s.
Some witnesses could not come to Portugal tomorrow.

IMO. The reconstruction is designed to monitor the movements of the tapas 9 on May 3rd 2007. No wonder they dont want to return. their stories would never tie up and the truth of their activities may emerge. Besides, what would be the point of refusing to answer the 40 questions if the terrible two are going to act it out in front of the PJ.

on a video about “one year Madeleine”RTP, the journalist Sandra Felgueiras tells that Gerry exchanged 14 messages, on cell phone, between 9.15 and 9.45 hs on that night and he could not remember what the calls had been about.

Portuguese media are much and much more careful talking about crimes than Britsh media.
In most cases they tell what heard through police information or sometimes a leak from somewhere, but never judging themselves if somebody is guilty or not.
I think media in the UK can be much more violent, insulting Portugal, PJ and making up stories.
Right now, the Portuguese media are telling what the lawyer said today.
