Robert Fisk On Child Murderer Sumir Kuntar
ROBERT Fisk watches Sumior Kuntar met by Hizbollah:
That could not be said for Samir Kuntar – 28 years in an Israeli jail for the 1979 murder of an Israeli, his young daughter and a policeman. He arrived from Israel very much alive, clean shaven but sporting a neat moustache, overawed by the hundreds of Hizbollah supporters, a man used to solitary confinement who suddenly found himself idolised by a people he had not seen in almost three decades. His eyes moved around him, the eyes of a prisoner watching for trouble. He was Israel’s longest-held Lebanese prisoner; Hizbollah’s leader, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, had promised his release. And he had kept his word.

Her;s what the mother of the child he murdered has to say:
“It had been a peaceful Sabbath day. My husband Danny and I had picnicked with our little girls, Einat, 4, and Yael, 2, on the beach not far from our home in Naharyia, a city on the northern coast of Israel. Around midnight, we were asleep in our apartment when four terrorists from Lebanon landed in a rubber boat on the beach two blocks away.
“Gunfire and exploding grenades awakened us. Desperately we sought to hide. Danny helped our neighbour climb into a crawl space above our bedroom. I went in behind her with Yael in my arms. Then Danny grabbed Einat and was dashing out of the front door when the terrorists came crashing in. They held Danny and Einat while they searched for me and Yael.
“I will never forget the joy and the hatred in their voices as they swaggered about hunting for us, firing their guns and throwing grenades. I knew that if Yael cried out, the terrorists would toss a grenade into the crawl space, so I kept my hand over her mouth. As I lay there, I remembered my mother telling me how she had hidden from the Nazis during the Holocaust.
“The terrorists took Danny and Einat down to the beach. There, one of them shot Danny in front of Einat so that his death would be the last sight she would ever see. Then he smashed my little girl’s skull in against a rocket with his rifle butt. That terrorist was Samir Kuntar. By the time we were rescued from the crawl space hours later, Yael, too, was dead. In trying to save all our lives I had smothered her”
Says Fisk:
…Amal militia and Palestinian bodies arrived from Israel – were soon bathed in the Lebanese flag and golden Hizbollah banners, drawn by a flower-encrusted truck towards Beirut.
Let’s hear it for the child killers…

This is not the full article that belongs to robert fisk…if you did read the full article and if you were familiar with robert fisk you would understand this man’s sarcasm…

It’s Friday; probably not the time for the terrorist/freedom fighter argument, though I’m game if you are. We could start by enquiring why Israel granted a pardon to a child killer in the first place.
But I really don’t think that you could justify your extracts from Robert Fisk’s article as being representative of it as a whole. It makes for great rhetoric but it sure as hell isn’t the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
You might try reading the article again. That way when the next war breaks out, and Robert Fisk says ‘I told you so’ you will, at least, not have to bother digging it out of the archives…

Turns out you’re full of shit.
From the New York Times:
“Mr. Kuntar was found guilty of murdering Mr. Haran in front of Einat, then turning to the child and crushing her skull against a rock with the butt of his rifle.
Smadar Haran, Dannys wife, hid in the apartments crawlspace with the couples 2-year-old daughter, accidentally smothering her to death in an effort to stop her from crying out. ”
The Washington Post also issued a retraction in their CORRECTIONS page after initially failing to fact check.

arabs are not ready for peace. They are raised hearing about ” israeli crimes of 47..,israeli crimes of 48…, israeli crimes of 67.., the ocupation “.
They are full of hate towards israel.
They want revenge , not peace.
They want to get even.
As long as news generations are raised full of hate peace will not come.

Fisk is so biased its not even funny. What kind of nation publicly glorifies a child murderer in front of their citizens and youth? Two innocent, citizen-protecting soldiers’ bodies in exchange for the bodies of 199 infiltrators and terrorists, including the perpetrator of the Coastal Road massacre 1978 (killing very many children), as well as other murderous living prisoners?
Unfortunately, Israel still does not have a viable peace parter in the Arab world.
