Lawyers for Brad Pitt are threatening legal action against news outlets if photos taken of the actor and his brood at their French estate are published. The images, Pitt’s lawyer contends, were “surreptitiously” taken by paparazzi with “highly powerful telephoto lenses,” and, if published, would violate the star’s privacy rights. The photos show “Pitt and his family as they engaged in familial activities on private property,” according to attorney Yael Holtkamp… The letter does not further describe the photos of Pitt, who, with partner Angelina Jolie, is reportedly negotiating a multimillion-dollar deal for the first pictures of the couple’s twins, born July 12 in France.

You know, I think it might be genuinely ironic were it not for the fact that the multi-million payments for the first photos of the children will be donated to childrens’ charities, as were the payments for the first photos of their first child.
The amount raised for childrens’ charities would be greatly reduced if paparazzi photos flood the market first.
Of course I appreciate that free-market ranters are horrified at the idea of anyone actually donating money to charity, since that interferes with the workings of the Invisible Hand.
But since I don’t give a flying f*ck for the Invisible Hand, I would be perfectly happy to see it stuffed up the paparazzi’s arses…
