Let’s Have A Heated Debate About Islam
ISLAM in the media. Johann Hari explains:
There is now a pincer movement trying to silence critical discussion of Islam. To one side, fanatics threaten to kill you; to the other, critics call you “Islamophobic”. But consistent atheism is not racism. On the contrary: it treats all people as mature adults who can cope with rational questions. When we pulp books out of fear of fundamentalism, we are decapitating the most precious freedom we have.
Well, yes…

I’d rather not have a debate about Islam.
We didn’t debate it before 9/11 and if we’re not going to properly examine the political situation in the Muslim states (and why would an Atheist do that) then it would just lead to needlessly hurting devout Muslims, giving the fanatics more things to hate us for and making a small British community feel hated and isolated.
Personally I’d make Songs of Praise put ‘for entertainment purposes only’ in their titles just like the psychics do - but I’ve got a feeling it would cause a massive controversy (it’s not just Muslims that go nuts about stuff…).

I’ve been debating Islam for many years. Getting nowhere of course.
There is a case currently in the Court - this week — about two young men being filmed whilst they have a whipping session.
Whilst some may just see this as homo-erotica, I tend to see it as being illegal in the UK and therefore punishable by a very long term prison sentence.
Given that it’s the first case of its type to be tried in the UK that I’ve heard of - I think it should have been on the major news channels!
Is it?
Is it fuck!
Why?
Because ……..
