Russell Brand’s Favourite Nazis
RUSSELL Brand and Jonathan Ross are the Germanes:
Brand defended the call on air by asking what was more offensive, the Daily Mail’s support for Mosley’s Blackshirts seventy-odd years back, or his call. I guess the answer to that is that that no-one in the 1930s was forced on pain of imprisonment to buy the Daily Mail !
(Slightly off-topic but irresistible - I bet you didn’t know that the Guardian argued for the Nazi Party’s inclusion in the German government, saying that this would “help to perpetuate this democracy“. Or that the Observer hinted that claims of anti-semitism were exaggerated because “the major part of the German Republican Press is in Jewish hands“.)
Laban makes a point. But Brand’s apology made no point at all…

Interesting that Brand mentions the Nazis.
Verbal violence of such magnitude brings to mind both ‘Clockwork Orange’ and the far more recent kicking to death of an old woman by an ex-soldier in Hartlepool.
The duo’s apologies are no different from that chap urinating on his dying victim.

I thought it was funny.
Andrew Sachs was meant to answer the phone-call and do an interview to promote a documentary he was in… and his granddaughter is in a band called ‘Satanic Sluts’… and he is an actor…
A lot of fuss over nothing.

If I were Sachs - I would personally take the situation into my own hands - and I would sue them. The BBC have neither the guts nor the inclination to do anything but raise awareness of the fact that they are a National institution. I would like to see both of the jokers sacked from the BBC - and never given a second chance. I can’t stand Ross anyway, and have no clue as to why he has reached the status he has - in my opinion he is not funny, amusing or remotely interesting. BBC viewers would not miss him, and I am absolutely sure that his voice is not one which could be considered “easy on the ear” for radio - Get rid of him !

Andrew Sachs is/was funny.
The other two are not.
But I agree they shouldn’t be fined, just sacked

Wazzuupp??
Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross (can’t spell) were doing that for comedy reasons lool, i thought it was funny cause i woulda done it, and, and, i think they should be let off!
I think they should of done some more things! I also think that the man who they did it to should grow a sense of humour, and his daughter probably had a good time with Russell Brand, i know i would of!
They shouldn’t get a fine i don’t think because it was just like a prank call, everyone has done that in there life, but just because they are famous it shouldn’t mean that they should get told off for it because it might be setting a bad example or whatever!
If (when) i get famous i am going to make everyone in Britain (or maybe the world) get a sense of humour (:
That’s all i gotta say now, bye, peace and mahalo!

Brand and Poss are a couple of silly, naughty twelve year olds who deserve to have their legs metaphorically slapped, and maybe each should be made to give a donation to charity by way of a fine.
However, WTF is Gordon Brown doing talking about it in parliament? Like there’s nothing important to deal with! The country is in meltdown, people are losing savings, jobs, pensions, houses and lives but still GB manages to worry about standards at the BBC?
I’ve never heard such a load of distractionary crap. I guess the markets are way down today then!
