I think that the posts do reveal a very strange view of the world, but it’s one which is very predictable; one moment he’s professing to be shocked and horrified by Sharia law and the next he’s pushing for people to be flogged.
He complains about the way Muslim fundamentalists treat women and then says that the only reason a senior officer would be interested in my welfare would because they want to have sex with me.
If it really is John Oddy and not Rasputin having a larf… & he does resort to knicker comments (like Gandolf does!!!) I don’t think he’s going to have much luck persuading the mainstream public to vote for his fav. Party’s policies.
‘Give it a rest gal, The leaders of our Armed Forces do not rub shoulders with the likes of you and I. They wouldn’t have a clue about one end of a rifle from the other.’
You really do need to get out a bit more, Cllr John Oddy. It’s been quite a while since they invented aircraft, and ships have been around a great deal longer. You do seem curiously ignorant about a subject you profess to have given much thought to.
Or are you living in a parallel universe in which the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force don’t exist?
I appreciate that you are simply repeating the spiel which presumably works when addressed to stupid and ignorant people, but I am neither stupid nor ignorant.
And assuming that other posters will buy into your ‘They don’t care about the likes of us’ drivel is unwise; some of those posters may come from military families. There are some of those around…
Chenier,
Give it a rest gal, The leaders of our Armed Forces do not rub shoulders with the likes of you and I. They wouldn’t have a clue about one end of a rifle from the other.
Who do you think fought the 2nd world war, regulars?, who fought the Korean war?, more regulars????.
The “Senior Officers” (of whatever rank?) were only asking after your welfare as a prelude of trying to get into your knickers.
The “relevance” of politicians and stab vests is that even with an escort they don’t feel safe on our streets!.
How would you know of the complication of warfare, unless you’ve been there, and if you have you’ll know that when the bullets start flying it’s kill or be killed and with the training given to a British soldier it’s usually the latter.
The supply of equipment, or lack of it, is criminal negligence on the part of our Government, not only did they send them off to fight an illegal war, they sent them there totally unprepared and under equipped.
‘The leaders of our Armed Forces are locked-up in their ivory towers, they do not have to live with the dross that inhabits our streets’
Really?
The leaders of our Armed Forces have a very good idea of what sort of dross inhabits the streets; that’s why they don’t want them anywhere near an effective fighting force. Shove the dross into the Armed Services and you very rapidly cease to have an effective fighting force; not a good idea if you need one.
‘they couldn’t give a fiddler’s about what happens to the likes of you and I’
Well, I don’t know about you but the senior officers I have come across seemed to be reasonably interested in my welfare; perhaps you should reconsider your approach.
‘Even our politicians wear stab vests when they go walkabout.’
What relevance does that point have to National Service?
The reality is that modern warfare is complicated; stupid people may be excellent cannon-fodder but there aren’t many wars fought that way any more.
I find it bizarre that people who claim to have the interests of their country at heart should wish to destroy the efficiency of our armed forces; instead of wittering on about National Service you could address yourself to the failure to provide the professionals with decent equipment….
Karen,
I’m not talking for the BNP, they are good enough to do that themselves, I am genuinely convinced that we need to be tougher on crime AND the causes of it.
Class?, studying or teaching?, what subject and why?, where?, is it a good course?, big class?, small class, anybody in it tasty?, do you fancy any of them (Don’t answer that one if your husband’s reading this, have you got a husband?).
I don’t believe in sadistic punishments - too harsh is as bad as too lax (although I agree that at the moment we can be too lax and too arbitrary).
But the BNP’s authoritarian agenda is impossible to implement without tyranny. People are human and you can’t clean them up and make them behave without frightening them into submission and conformity - and you’d probably turn on each other before you got close to turning on them…
Chenier,
Nice to have you back, how’s your day been?.
The leaders of our Armed Forces are locked-up in their ivory towers, they do not have to live with the dross that inhabits our streets, they couldn’t give a fiddler’s about what happens to the likes of you and I. Even our politicians wear stab vests when they go walkabout.
thus displaying a total lack of interest in the considered views of the leaders of the Navy, the Army and the Air Force, all of whom are implacably opposed to the return of National Service….
Pigeon,
I believe in that policy, I believe in the Death Penalty, I would also want a return of National Service and, in sentencing, 20 years should mean 20 years, we have grown too soft in the way we deal with the criminals of this Country, the three strike rule should apply. Paedophiles should be castrated and anyone mugging or robbing a pensioner should have a minimum sentence of 15 years. Whilst we had National Service we did not have the youth crime we have today or the Anti Social Behaviour. We are, rapidly, going to the dogs and only a radical change in our judicial system can change that but nobody has the bollocks to implement it
No John I have no reason to criticise you and i’m not flapping about any bush either?
The BNP on the other hand should be criticised. One of their policies is bringing back corperal punishment isn’t it? Is that really forward thinking? What next, public flogging and stoning? It’s almost like they’re jealous of Islam.
Pigeon,
Most of my lads have worked for me for some time, others are returning to me after being elsewhere, but all of them came to me, originally, by personal recommendation.
Don’t flap about the bush, Pigeon, come-out and say what you have too, I’m a big boy now I can take the criticism.
Pigeon,
BNP Councillors come under more scrutiny and checks than any other Councillors, the establishment wants them to *uck-up so they can say “Told you so!”. That is why BNP Councillors are cleaner than clean (I was going to say whiter than white but thought better!) and I have no doubt that BNP MP’s would suffer the same scrutiny, so they would be totally open, transparent and accountable. They would also demand that the rest of them become the same.
Really for the better though, knowing what you know?
Do you honestly believe that those that got those seats wouldn’t turn out just like the rest of the ’scum’ that you describe from other political parties?
Pigeon,
Believe it or not, not all BNP members are racists. Policies, in all parties change, some of the BNP’s will have to, but both you and I know that the chances of the BNP being a major party are a long time off. I would like t see a few BNP MP’s and MEP’s, that would, if you’ll excuse the pun, put the cat amongst the pigeons.
Karen,
I have no idea as to the intentions of the BNP, but, whatever they are they cannot be any worse than those of our present lying, manipulative Government.

I wouldn’t but I’d also like the chance to NOT vote for them; IMO it should my decision as a voter where I plant my cross, not someone elses.

The fact that it’s a gravy train isn’t going to help you get rid of it. You’ll have a lot of people manoeuvring to stay.
And I wasn’t talking about us holding France and Germany’s hands - I was talking about us making sure what they get up to isn’t to our disadvantage.
Or are the BNP going to make us like North Korea? No need for a foreign policy because we wont be dealing with them???
