Iran Missile Photoshop Contest

iran-missile-photoshop Iran Missile Photoshop ContestIRAN unleashes its missiles. The Salami Air Force is primed for an attack on Israel’s digestive heartlands.

The US and Israel have condemned Iran after it test-fired a long range missile capable of reaching Tel Aviv.

Iran state media said nine missiles had been fired in total, including a new Shahab-3, with a range of 2,000km (1,240 miles).

But look again at those missiles zooming off into the air. Have we seen them before?

Those AFP/Gerry images in full.

    Or possibly never?

Perhaps the Revolutionary Guards should join Mariah Carey in litigation against the purveyors of Photoshop….

  2. 2 Anorak Says:

Psst! They only have one gun…

…somebody’s been mucking about with it!!!

  4. 4 Terry Carty Says:

I cannnot believe even those nonsecular Iranians would think they could get away with such a crude and obvious deception. Make you wonder who would do this and what hidden agenda could be at work? Surely the missle launches must be genuine. I get the impression that US spy satellites know when Ahmadinejad breaks wind never mind the fact he has just conducted a missile test. If nothing else they have stupidly given the world a damn good excuse to bomb the crap out of them. I find it almost beyond belief that even the most brain dead Revolutionary Guards would be idiotic enough to invite this. Mind you when did Bush ever need an excuse to bomb the crap out of anyone.

  5. 5 KBB Says:

Its not the first time they have pulled this trick. They may have missiles to fire, but they have no warheads to put on top of them.

  6. 6 BIg Jock Knew Says:

I knew these photos were fake, same as I knew about everything else.

  7. 7 Tom Busic Says:

    Mr Anorak,

I have a bit of confusion with your message/point in this post.

Who are you accusing of photoshopping the pictures? The Iranian state media, AFP/Gerry or the BBC?

The (allegedly) original picture shows three missiles in the air and one still sitting on a launcher. Somebody trying to cover up a failed launch, perhaps.

But, how did the original reach the western media if the Iranian’s intent was was to deceive?

Still, four missiles in the air looks far more threatening than the picture of the dilapidated building in the Iraqi desert (falsely claimed to be WMD test site) that was generated by the US Government as the pretext for invasion.

  8. 8 Tommy Buns Says:

If you open the image to reveal the larger picture you can clearly see that the sky around the 3rd missile from the left has been played with on photochop. Secondly that missiles smoke trail looks like it is a combination of the missiles either side of it.

    Photochop wizardry at its worst

  9. 9 Snoopy7 Says:

I guess if they just keep the bullet out of their one gun we will all be ok…
