‘THE story goes that when former footballer Luther Blissett was bought by Italian club AC Milan, they thought they were securing the services of his then Watford FC colleague John Barnes.

This is an important fact, serving to remind you that Luther has a history of mistaken identity, of being taken for another. And it’s happened again.

The Express says that the authors of a book entitled Q – the fictional tale of a 16th century theology student – have adopted the name Luther Blissett.

Now that the book has been nominated for a £10,000 literary prize, the paper thinks it’s time to catch up with the great man.

“I’ve not read the book,” says Luther, “and don’t know much about it…But if your name is linked to a book you’d like it to be a success.”
