So we can only assume that the juxtaposition in the Telegraph of a picture of Charlize Theron with a story headlined, Lonely Heart Women Search For Love, is deliberate.
The implication is that among the one in five adults using dating agencies in their search for the ideal partner is, if not Ms Theron herself, then many women like her.

That would certainly explain why so many men are turning to dating agencies, but not why there are so many women scanning the personal columns.
