‘THE city of Liverpool is famous for a few things: football, Cilla Black, The Beatles, coachloads of Japanese tourists that come to see where The Beatles played, football, and, er, did we mention football?

”Looking for business?”

But now, the Telegraph reports, Liverpool is set to be widely known for a new quality – it is to have the country’s first officially sanctioned red light district.

Liverpool city council has voted by ”an overwhelming majority” to give the green light for a designated area for prostitutes to ply their trade.

And thereby give the city’s visitors something else to see other than Aunt Mimi’s house, the Cavern Club and where Sporty Spice bought her first shellsuit.

Now they can try to spot Wayne Rooney…’
