Like Mother, Like Daughter

‘“IT’S funny, I never thought of my mum being famous when I was growing up,” says Lauren Tyler.

Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and Kate Moss

“To me, she was just Mum and she wanted us all to have as normal a childhood as possible. We didn’t have nannies or au pairs and we didn’t swan around in limos.”

Lauren’s feet were kept firmly on the ground, and when they weren’t in immediate contact with terra firma they were on the bus – “like everyone else”.

And it was and still is no easy job being grounded when your mum is a star. Especially when you hear who she is. So, go on…guess.

No, she’s not Mary Tyler Moore. And neither is she a relation of Liv Tyler.

We looked into Lauren’s parentage further, trawling the world of showbiz for stardust-spattered Tylers, and can now say with some degree of certainty that she is also not the daughter of Anne Tyler, writer of the movie The Accidental Tourist, nor is she the daughter of Judy Tyler, who famously played Peggy Van Alden in Jailhouse Rock.

To put you out of your misery, know that mum is Linda Robson, the woman who played one third of the female leads in TV’s Birds Of A Feather in the 1990s.

Yes, we know the surname threw you off the scent, but it was clearly designed to – as we’ve noted, Linda wants to keep her daughter away from the paparazzi, hence the use of dad Tony Tyler’s moniker?

But Hello! still finds it hard not to notice the young fledgling model.

“With her exquisite features and an enviable figure,” observes the magazine, “Lauren looks every inch the model – yet surprisingly this is the 21-year-old’s first professional assignment.”

And that is truly amazing since mum says that Lauren’s “forever being stopped in the street and being handed cards by model scouts searching for a new face, but she has always politely turned them down”.

Linda thinks her daughter is gorgeous, amazing and stunning – and that Lauren looks just like she did 20-odd years ago.

But while that may sound more like a word of warning than a compliment to young Lauren’s pert ears, Hello! is quick to add that most people think Lauren bears an “uncanny resemblance” to a certain Kate Moss.

And if you are the brown-haired Kate Moss in question, please get in touch. In the meantime, we’ll do some more research…’
