No Wax In The Works

‘THE Queen may not want to make a fuss over her oldest son’s wedding next month, but we at Anorak do.

We have dusted off the trestle tables, unfrozen the sausage rolls and unwound the bunting in readiness for the big event.

Hell, we’ve even got our Edward and Sophie memorial mugs out of the bank vault so we can drink a toast to the happy couple on April 8th.

So imagine our surprise and disappointment when we learn that not everyone is getting into the spirit of the event.

The Times says Madame Tussaud’s – ”which for the past 200 years has charted the rise and fall of public figures” – has no plans to commission a waxwork of Camilla Parker Bowles.

”By contrast,” it points out, ”Diana, Princess of Wales, has a prominent profile at the London waxworks, which is particularly popular with overseas visitors.”

Diane Moon, head of PR at the museum, said no decision had been made on whether to commission a likeness of the woman who could be Queen.

”We have a tradition of having an absolute replica of the wedding dresses,” she said.

”If we get the dress or the outfit, we might consider making a figure.”

And putting it at the entrance to the Chamber of Horrors…’
