‘Well you were busy, and I was blacker, so he gave the job to me’

You might know Boateng as the country’s first black Cabinet minister, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, who has been fearless in his desire to repeat almost word for word what Gordon Brown says.

And don’t say that such a way with words doesn’t pay off, as we read in the Telegraph that, providing Tony and Co. get in at the next election, Boateng will be the next High Commissioner to South Africa.

The move was arranged by Tony, and the paper reports that Boateng was “very happy” to accept.

“We believe that the only way to avoid accusations of cronyism and to ensure the correct decisions are made is to have open competition,” says a spokesperson for the FDA.

Although, it may prove tricky to name another MP with an African heritage who wants the job…’
