Rosie O’Donnell And Donald Trump’s Bad Taste

rosie_trump.jpgTHE awards may have been intended to celebrate women in the media, but there was nothing ladylike about emcee Rosie O’Donnell who finished off a rant about her archnemisis Donald Trump by grabbing her crotch and shouting, “Eat me.”

O’Donnell’s boss on the View, talk show host doyenne Barbara Walters, covered her face with her hands, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

O’Donnell’s rant, at the New York Women in Communication annual awards luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria, was probably payback for Trump’s latest stunt last week when he mailed Walters a framed gigantic pair of panties worn by O’Donnell in the 1994 movie Exit to Eden.

“I sent it to Barbara [Walters] to hang in her office because I didn’t want it in mine,” Trump told the New York Post. “It was funny, except that it was really gross. It’s disgusting. I feel sorry for [Rosie’s] wife. It can’t be pleasant.”

O’Donnell’s foul-mouthed retaliation yesterday was in front of a crowd of 2,000 that included Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, media mogul Rupert Murdoch and, according to the New York Post, “17 high school girls who won scholarships to pursue their dreams of careers in media.”

What lessons the girls will take away from O’Donnell’s example is anyone’s guess, after she told the audience it was sad Trump thought she was “disgusting” and “fat” because “it was always my dream to give an old, bald billionaire a boner.”

One unnamed woman told the Post: “I cringed and dove under the table when she said, ‘Eat me,’ ”

Strangely absent from the Post’s coverage of the event was another target of Rosie’s ire, News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch. (Prop. The New York Post.)

“This is a celebration of women who changed the world and no one understands why Rupert Murdoch is on the dais,” she told the audience, adding, “”I was looking for numbers on his head. There aren’t any.”
