Truce And Lies? Hamas Fires Rockets At Israel

This April alone, the following incidents illustrate that the media’s impression that Israel shattered the calm is anything but accurate:

Compare that with the BBC’s story “Hamas fighters end Israel truce”.

As written:
“The armed wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement has said it is ending its five-month truce with Israel.
Earlier in the day the group launched a sustained barrage of rockets and mortars into Israel, the first such attack since November.

“The group, the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said the attacks were in revenge for recent killings of Palestinians by Israeli forces.

The ending of the truce has not been confirmed by Hamas political leaders.”

Makes me wonder what is meant by the word “truce”? Does it only last as long as Hamas is unable to kill Israelis? Or worse?

This from the Jerusalem Post:
“The barrages of Kassam rockets and mortar shells Hamas fired at Israel on Tuesday morning were meant to provide cover for and distract attention from an attempted infiltration by a terror cell, whose members intended to kidnap IDF soldiers deployed along the Gaza border, IDF sources reported Tuesday afternoon…

“The IDF has been on high alert in recent weeks, ever since receiving intelligence that Hamas was planning to abduct soldiers in a raid similar to the one near Kerem Shalom in June, 2006 in which Cpl. Gilad Schalit was captured.”

“The barrages of Kassam rockets and mortar shells Hamas fired at Israel on Tuesday morning were meant to provide cover for and distract attention from an attempted infiltration by a terror cell, whose members intended to kidnap IDF soldiers deployed along the Gaza border, IDF sources reported Tuesday afternoon.”

But peace is good, right. A truce is noble. Especially when there’s always another group to fire rockets at Israel.

As the Guardian writes:
“A spokesman for the Hamas-dominated government, however, said it wanted the ceasefire with Israel, which has lasted six months, to continue. Several mortars and crude rockets were fired early today from the Gaza Strip as Israelis celebrated their 59th Independence Day. Nobody was injured, but for the first time since the November ceasefire, Hamas claimed responsibility. Dozens of homemade Qassam rockets have been fired out of Gaza in recent months, but by other militant groups.”

Do you think these other groups know Hamas? Go on, have a guess…
