No Sex Please, It’s The White House: Randall Tobias Is Undone

TONY BLAIR and GEORGE Bush’s regime do have one more thing in common – sexlessness. No sex scandals. But there is this, as ABC reports:

“Deputy Secretary of State Randall L. Tobias submitted his resignation Friday, one day after confirming to ABC News that he had been a customer of a Washington, D.C. escort service whose owner has been charged by federal prosecutors with running a prostitution operation.”

Tobias, who is married, says he has called the “Pamela Martin and Associates” escort service “to have gals come over to the condo to give me a massage”. Nudge-nudge, Wink-wink. say no more.

But Tobias goes on to say there has been “no sex,” and that recently he had been using another service “with Central Americans” to provide massages.

Tobias is the innocent who actually thought the massage parlour was a massage parlour. No happy smiles. No afters. No extras.

That a man should be brought down by mis-advertising is unfair. That anyone cares about a man visiting a massage parlour for sex or a back rub is out of kilter with real life.

Ron Sekoff writes in the Huffington Post: “Another GOP hypocrite bites the dust. Joining a dishonor roll that includes anti-child predator predator Mark Foley and anti-homosexual homosexual Ted Haggard is Deputy Secretary of State Randall Tobias, a pro-abstinence zealot who couldn’t abstain from enjoying the services of D.C. Madam Jeane Palfry’s escort service.”

As Don Suber says: “Wrong. It’s the Sex. If we fired politicians for hypocrisy, there would be no one left in Washington — a tempting idea, I hasten to add.”

But until we get a genuine sex scandal, we will have to make do with this, and the hypocrisy…
