Virginia Tech: Guns Don’t Kill People…Mums Do

by | 19th, May 2007

THE gun debate in America never really gets off the ground. After Virginia Tec, there has been lots of hot air and nodding heads but no sign of a change to gun laws. Of course, when once side of the arguemnt is armed, the debate is a less than even contest…

This from Australia’s Sunday Telegraph:

Monday is Ladies Night, and Lorrie McNally is a regular here. So is her 62-year-old mum. The air is thick and smoky, and the place is packed. People are forced to shout over the boom, boom, boom.

But these women aren’t clutching cocktails – they’re gripping guns. Ladies Night at the Shoot Straight gun range means women don’t pay….

The mother of an 18-year-old son, she keeps a Springfield semiautomatic in her purse and a Beretta pistol at home or in her glove box.

“I think it’s more important for women with small children to own a gun because you can’t run when you have children,” she says.
