Idiots Arrested In Flaming Car At Glasgow Airport

IF you were going to kill lots of people, would you do this?

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) – Two men rammed a flaming sport utility vehicle into the main terminal of Glasgow airport Saturday, crashing into the glass doors at the entrance and sparking a fire, witnesses said. Police said two suspects were arrested.

glasgow-airport.jpgThe airport – Scotland’s largest – was evacuated and all flights suspended, a day after British police thwarted a plot to bomb central London, discovering two cars abandoned with loads of gasoline, gas canisters and nails.

“One has to conclude … these are linked,” Dame Pauline Neville-Jones, former head of Britain’s joint intelligence committee, told Sky News. “This is a very young government, and we may yet see further attacks.”

You have to conclude that? No you do not. You should conclude nothing. In London there are cars packed with nails and petrol. In Glasgow there are a couple of nutcases in a jeep:

Thomas Conroy, a maintenance worker at the airport believes the men deliberately tried to set the car on fire.

“It looked like they had Molotov cocktails with them,” he said.

“They sort of burst them round about the flames to make sure the car would go up big style.

“Within minutes it was up and the terminal caught as well.”

Good that no-one aside from the arrested lunatics were hurt. We should not treat such things lightly.

It’s just that there’ something vain, pathetic and posturing about this incident that makes us less fear the villains than wonder how they managed to get themselves dressed in the morning…
