American Football At Wembley: Miami Dolphins Player Learns No Translator Needed In London

by | 25th, October 2007

THIS Sunday the Miami Dolphins will play the New York Giants in Wembley Stadium. And Dolphins’ player Channing Crowder confesses he didn’t know that people spoke English in London.”

Anorak will view this game as it views all American football matches – but popping out to get a video, or sleeping. But this is interesting. They get Beckham. We get Channing Crowder.

“I couldn’t find London on a map if they didn’t have the names of the countries,” Crowder  says. “I swear to God. I don’t know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that.

“I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him. That’s the closest thing I know to London. He’s black, so I’m sure he’s not from London. I’m sure that’s a coincidental name.”

Of course, the irony is that he will need a translator – people in London really all do speak like David Beckham…
