CCTV Spring Festival Gala
Chinese censors have banned artists from lip-synching at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, the Chinese new year’s eve television gala show – “the most popular programme in the world’s most populous country”
The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) demands that producers pick real singers, and that they should sing about big events, such as the earthquake, Olympics, space.
And here’s Zhang Ziyi, star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha, miming at the gala.
