Bella Freud Is Beyond Parody

BELLA Freud explains to Telegraph readers what she does for a living:

Every Christmas at my son’s school the children cover a shoe box with wrapping-paper, fill it with presents and mark it for either a girl or boy of the age they think would most appreciate its contents. All these boxes are delivered to the West London Action for Children headquarters, which distributes them to the neediest of the children they support, those least likely to receive any presents on Christmas Day.

While we were filling our box for an eight-year-old boy with packets of Gogo’s Crazy Bones, Roald Dahl’s book Danny the Champion of the World, a diary and some sweets, I couldn’t help slipping in a packet of Bassetts Soft & Chewy Active Health Plus Omega-3, which has helped my own eight-year-old with concentration.

He also loves his hair products, so we selected Fudge Hair Shaper for our unknown friend, and then, on further entreaties, some L’Oréal StudioLine Indestructible Gel. All chosen with love. I hope he likes them.

Satire is not dead – it’s just getting harder to spot…
