The Kaka Tattoo Tapes: Why Kaka Didn’t Join Manchester City

by | 6th, February 2009

FOR days, Manchester City fans toyed with the news that Kaka would leave AC Milan and take up residence in Eastlands.

Now Anorak can reveal why that deal did not go though and how it was too late for Manchester City fan Christopher Atkinson.

To an office in Milan. Kaka is seated in his football kit and boots. His agent is talking…

Agent: So Manchester it is. One hundred millions pounds, less costs and dry cleaning, incidentals like jet, new car, small African country etc. Just sing here…

Kaka is presented with a document.

Kaka: It’s all in Chinese…

Agent: Just formalities. You know… Just sign

Agent flicks page over and indicates the dotted line.

In Manchester, Christopher Atkinson enters his local tattoo parlour and asks that the word “Kaka” be printed on his skin.

The needle dips in blue ink and Atkinson’s chest soon sports the name of his team’s new star, the world’s most expansive player.

In Milan…

Agent: Manchester. Big name, son. Huge. They don’t come much bigger.

Kaka: True enough. When I was a boy I heard of Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law and the great Georgie Best…

Agent: Manchester is all that and more. It’s a great City…

Kaka: City? Manchester… City..?

Agent: Oh ****!
