Comic Relief Does the Celebrity Death Cull, Day 4: Cheryl Cole’s Vomit

by | 6th, March 2009

DAY 4 of Comic Relief Does the Celebrity Death Cull and “CHERYL COLLAPSES AS ASHLEY IS NICKED.”

Cheryl has been “projectile vomiting”. No, not by way of foreplay. Because she is ill. Says Cheryl:

“Last night I had a second of thinking this could be my resting place but I never once thought I’m not going to carry on climbing to the top… so keep spurring us on and we will keep going.”

Cole’s bandmate Kimberly Walsh is watching Cheryl like a “psycho”. She has “crippling foot pain” and “altitude sickness”.

There were fears that Kimberley would have to pull out of the trek after she was diagnosed with a painful foot condition known as Morton’s Neuroma, which inflames the nerves and makes walking difficult.

Says her mum:

“But she’s absolutely determined to keep on going, especially now the end’s in sight.”

This is the end. The EU Celebrity Mountain is dwindling. We cannot support so many celeb in a recession. Some have to go. What Dancing On Ice cannot do, Killer-manjaro might achieve.

In the Star:

The altitude and a treacherous trek across a glacier took its toll on the nine stars, with many suffering nosebleeds and blinding headaches.

Is there time for one last call? Max… Max… Help, me Max Clifford! Max…

And as the team – including Take That’s Gary Barlow and Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole – trudged into camp the pain was etched on their faces.

All the girls were crying as they finished off the day’s climbing at 15,000ft on Mount Kilimanjaro – their toughest test so far.

Final goodbyes.

TV babe Fearne Cotton, 26, collapsed and there were fears she would not be able to continue.

Call Kerry Katona…

But after treatment, the skinny star vowed to go on. TV host Ben Shephard, 34, said: “She collapsed with exhaustion.”

In the Mail, Take That’s Gary Barlow is humbled:

“We’re all near to reaching mental and physical exhaustion up here so to know that everyone is behind us and giving whatever they can is just so humbling. Knowing that we’ve raised this fantastic amount of money in cash-strapped times is the push we need to get us to that summit!”
