Postal Worker Charged With Theft Of $600K Stamps

by | 23rd, March 2009

US postal worker Marvin Foster has been charged with stealing more than $600,000 in stamps.

If that were not ill thought out enough, the crime was spotted when one Kyle Mathias began, allegedly, selling stamps on eBay for less than their face value.

Mathias has been charged with conspiring with Foster to sell the stolen stamps.

To put the in lid on this caper, all stamps were stolen from the same post office, in Elkridge, Washington.

Lots of them:

Between mid-December and March, $130,000 more in stamps disappeared from the office.

And there is money in knock-off stamps.

Since 2000, Mathias has received $676,264 in his Paypal account from eBay transactions, the police statement said.

Yeah, since 200. And the detectives just caught them…
